One of the perks to buying and selling antiques is I constantly have new pieces coming in that I can play with in my house.  The only pieces that are off limits to sell are family pieces.  Everything else is fair game, even the table and dining chairs straight out of my dining room, so my house is now in a constant state of flux.  This is what my living room looks like today… …and here is what it looked like only a year ago.  The paint?  Changed.  Furniture arrangement?  Changed.  Settee?  Gone.  Both side chairs?  Gone.  Curtains?  Gone.  Mirror and coffee table?  Yep, you guessed it, gone. First of all, today I have the priveledge of being a guest on Chic Modern Vintage, so make sure you visit! I sold enough things out of my guestroom that it was really time to give it some attention.  I sold almost everything on the walls and the chair in the corner.  It was looking sad and bare.  I was playing with it yesterday and this is what I came up with.  The picture above is how it looks now.  I sold the chalkboard and the “Gasthaus” sign and replaced them with an antique equestrian print and some framed vintage lacework.  The candle sconces didn’t work with the prints, so I replaced those with my $.10 (yes, a dime each) ironstone plates. This was what my guest room looked like about three weeks ago… Now?  Something is missing.  Well, quite a few things, actually.  The chair, the Gausthaus sign that was above the bed and the crib rail that my antique dresses were hanging from.  I sold them all (well, the crib didn’t sell, yet, but it’s on the way to my new booth.) Instead of a mirror and sheet music wreath over my sofa… There’s a big white wall with a few nails sticking out (and I need to sew my curtains and make a cover for that pillow form!) And I am no longer greeted by the table I stripped, refinished, and painted… …now there’s just a clock.  So, I’ve got some holes to fill!  Time to play some “musical furniture”, but that will have to wait a while.  I have a list of client projects that runs over a page

It’s been a couple of years in the making, but my dining room is finally finished.  (Well, for now anyway…and I still need to hem the drapes and maybe find a rug.  Ok, maybe it’s not done, done, but it’s done enough to do a photo shoot and share it with you.)  So, here it is!
