Furniture Feature Friday – Favorites & a Link Party

Between the pool, ice cream cones, catching fireflies, washing dirty feet and tucking in two tired boys, I almost didn’t make it to FFF tonight!  But, I managed to steal away a few minutes before 10:00 to pick out my favorites from two weeks ago.  The blues have it tonight… I think this painted hutch by Lilacs and Longhorns looks so pretty.   It adds just the right amount of pop against the neutral walls.  Very lovely piece. I love this Anthropologie-inspired typography dresser by Southern Revivals.  And it’s painted in one of my very favorite colors – Shutter Gray… I bet you can guess what caught my eye in this room by Dimples and Tangles…the curtains!  I also love the peacock blue used on this dresser.  You should see the before and after of this space and how just painting one piece of furniture made a big statement. Furniture Feature Friday – Favorites & a Link Party

Good evening FFF fans!  Today was a good day.  I finally found a great fabric for my French daybed, the new toilet and bathroom tile arrived (I’m sure the UPS guy loves me), some of my Hungarian fabric came in from Germany and I dealt with my sewing machine issues (operator error) and got started on a big sewing project for a freelance article.  Ah…good mail and productivity.  I love days like that.  Anyway, I’ll share all of that later.  Tonight…it’s about furniture.  Here are some of my favorites from last week… Brynne from The Gathered Home shares the triumph and trials of her Craig’s List score in this entertaining post…  (hint: it’s the tufted sofa.) Sticking with the sofa theme for tonight, Paint in My Hair shares this sweet whimsical sofa.  I think the colors and the way the fabrics play off one another is so cute. Kelly of

Furniture Feature Friday – Kathleen’s Favorites & a Link Party

Welcome to another FFF, a weekly link party for furniture-lovers across the globe.  This week, we have the lovely Kathleen of Between Yellow & Blue again to pick some favorites. Here they are… This dresser from Laura at Whimsical Perspective is gorgeous!  Just love the distressed details.  And lovely legs. We just can’t get enough of these French provincial dressers.  It seems you can’t go wrong with any color.  I especially loved this one with the gold dipped legs by Burlap & Lace.  Great job Shannon! Check out this cool herring bone dresser from Beja at Howdy Honey.  She stripped this piece to the wood and made it lovely again.  Great choice in color! Here are the rules for our furniture get-together… 1.) Your post has to be about furniture. Please, please, please…just furniture. If you find your link has been deleted, it’s not because I’m mean, it’s because your post

Adding Details to Drawer Fronts with Paint

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post brought to you by Frog Tape. In the craziness of getting ready for Lucketts, I did manage to take some pictures, so I could go back and share how I did some things.  Now it’s time to start pulling some of those pictures out to put tutorials together. So, here are the details of the design I came up with for the Dried Lavender dresser. When I started working on the dresser, I wasn’t exactly sure how it was going to turn out.   For those of you who stress about a plan when you’re working on pieces…there’s no need.  It’s okay to plan, but it’s also okay to just start and let the pieces develop as you work on it.   I started out by stripping the finish and painting the piece in Dried Lavender, one of the new MMS Milk Paint colors that will

Furniture Feature Friday – A Link Party

Sorry I’m a little late for FFF tonight.  Not quite as late as last week, but I was scrambling to put the post together at the last minute.  I have been fiddling around with the MMSMP site to get things looking a little bit fancier and lost track of time.  Anyway, here are my favorites from last week… I love this mustard chest by Estuary.  I like a lot of Meg’s stuff it seems!  She’s just a talented gal. I am also in love with this French bench by Kim of Savvy Southern Style.  I think I may have featured this bench this first time Kim shared it but I love it even more with a makeover of Typewriter MMS Milk Paint.  I am a little biased, though! Lastly, I think this outdoor space by Mt-Tails is heavenly.  My yard and deck are so pathetic and I would love a
