I’ve had some questions about paint colors and sources for other things in my office, so here you go.  I aim to please.  The interior of the rustic pine cupboard is painted in Celestial Blue by Pantone.  The over sized glass jar that houses my German glitter is from Wal-Mart and the MMS letters are from Wuslu.  The ironstone pitchers, locker basket and sorting rack are antiques.  The armoire is painted in a mix of equal parts Louis Blue and Paris Gray by Annie Sloan’s Chalk Paint.  The detail is painted in Old White.  The mirrored armoire is an antique I purchased at a junk shop.  The basket above is also from Wuslu and the “MAKE” letters are $5/each (on sale) from Hobby Lobby.  The wall color is Behr’s Reflecting Pool at 25% strength.  I liked the color, but wanted it to be super soft, almost white, so I had

I recently went through the process of cleaning out my craft room/office.  I still have a few finishing touches to complete, but the hard part is done.  I’ve organized and reorganized my office many times, but I finally came to the realization that I didn’t have an organization issue, I had a “stuff” issue.  Too much stuff, to be exact.  I was trying to “fit ten pounds of flour into a five pound sack.”  The result was an office that was always messy and cluttered and impractical and impossible to work in.  I had no incentive to keep it cute or clean, so it was chronically a disaster.    The first step was sorting.  This took hours.  It was the kind of work that was hard to get motivated to do.  I would just sit and stare at the stuff piled on those wire shelves and just wanted to walk out

My office/craft room has always been a “make do” space. It started in a spare dresser and closet and then took over half the guest room.  When I started my business, it became clear I needed more room.  My kitchen counters were always covered in paints, papers and projects.  It drove me crazy and it was incredibly impractical.  My mom suggested moving things around, so I moved both boys into the guest room, the guest room into my older son’s room and my office into the nursery.  I now had a permanent space, but I still just made do.  Furniture has come and gone.  I organized and reorganized and did it all over again.  I was finally ready to turn it into a proper craft room and office. I already showed you a small section of one wall… Here’s what the room looked like when I first took it over as

Do you remember a few months ago when I declared my desire for a cow?  A cow painting, that is?  Well, now I want a nest.  I know…never satisfied, right?  A few months ago, I purchased a new camera and have been hanging onto my old one.  I thought I might want to keep it as a backup or I would put it up for a giveaway, but I just waited.  I wanted the camera to go to someone who really needed it for their business.  I know that would’ve been a huge blessing for me when I was first starting out and I wanted to pass that along.  An opportunity finally presented itself.  Laura, my illustrator, logo designer and the artist who painted Adele needed a digital SLR for her business.  So, we worked out a trade.  She gets the camera and two lenses and I get a nest painting.
