Feels Like Home comes out in just over a week!!  If you’ve been waiting to preorder the book until it’s a little closer to shipping day, well, we’re getting pretty close.  I am so excited to get this book out into the world.

Feels Like Home Book | Miss Mustard Seed | #feelslikehomebook

For Feels Like Home Friday, Melanie from Mango Reclaimed and Mango Paint (she is amazing) and I will be doing a furniture and paint Q&A on Instagram Live at 1:00 EST/noon CST.  (That is Friday, October 1, 2021.)  The Live will be recorded and I’ll link to it when it’s available if you can’t join us.

Melanie Curley | Mango Reclaimed | Miss Mustard seed

As a thank you to all of my readers and followers who have been so supportive of this book project, I am having another giveaway.  This one is for the “furniture artist” and is very near and dear to me since painting and refinishing furniture was the staple of my business for over a decade.  When I started writing Feels Like Home, there was absolutely no doubt that I would dedicate a chapter to furniture.  Furniture dictates so many aspects of a room – the style, the functionality, the focal point.  And it is a great place to add your own custom touch. It could be as simple as changing out the hardware or as involved as reupholstering a sofa.  In the chapter on furniture, I share all about shopping for furniture (new and used), what to look for and what to avoid, all about different kinds of paints and finishes to use, and how to properly prep a piece of furniture.  A lot of ground is covered in this chapter!

If you feel overwhelmed looking through my furniture posts on this blog (there are over 600), then this chapter is a very condensed version with all of the most important information.  My hope is it will be a great resource and source of inspiration to revisit over and over again.

For the giveaway today, I’ve collected another amazing group of items for the “furniture artist” or aspiring furniture artist.  (And, if you have ever painted or refinished a piece of furniture or wanted to, that’s you!)

The giveaway includes one of my favorite pinafore aprons by Linen Bee in natural linen –

I thought your giveaways couldn’t get better, but this one may be my favorite! I could find a use for all the products…especially the hemp oil. I’ve been wanting to try MMS milk paint for some time now. I would love to paint an antique hutch!

      • Sue

        What a wonderful giveaway !

    2. Shelly Wallpe

So excited our book will be here soon! This giveaway is wonderful! I have 2 oak “banker’s” chairs I need to refinish and plan to sand then paint in MMS Tricycle to place in front of a linen painted farm table to use as my sewing/craft table. Part of a bigger project of turning an office space into more of a multi purpose craft/hobby space. Your work inspires me and I can’t wait to get your book. I have been following you for years.

      • Jody

What a generous giveaway! I’ve already used MMSMP and would love to try it on bathroom cabinets.

      • Pat Smedley

        Marion,

I have an old 78 record player that belonged to my dad. It was one of the first items he purchased for himself. It required you to turn the crank arm around for the record player to work. It played 78 rpm records. It needs to be updated with chalk paint to modernize the outside. The trim work is made up of half circles. The top opens up where the records are put on the turn table. There are 2 doors that open at the bottom and the speakers were inside the doors. It was called a Victrola.

Wonderful give away to one lucky person. Thanks for your generosity Marion.

    3. Rachel Noon

I’ve painted lots of furniture pieces, but never with the products from the giveaway. Looking to do my dining room chairs soon.

      • Diane Kill

What a fantastic giveaway! I have a vintage library table begging for a redo.

    4. Julia - ponderandpurchase

Such fantastic giveaways Marian, thank you. I’ve recently purchased a compfy desk chair to use at my newly acquired leather topped pedestal desk. It would be great painted in milk paint and protected with hemp oil. Currently thinking about materials should it be grainsacks or checks.

    5. Christy K

I would love, love, love this giveaway! We recently found two armchairs at the curb and this would help us get started on refurbishing them! Can’t wait for the book.

    6. Sue

I have a Hoosier cabinet that would look beautiful in MMS Linen and I have always wanted one of the Linenbee aprons. These are some amazing giveaways!

    7. Becky Graham

He we t a great giveaway. MMS Hemp Oil is my favorite. It does wonders for wood. I have a side table I am looking forward to stripping as soon as the weather cools off in Texas.

    8. Cheryl Jarl

I recently took apart our china hutch. Some redesign, and construction, we now have two pieces of furniture. Painting the base of our kitchen table and refinishing the top is next on the to do list. Love this giveaway, so many fun goodies.

    9. Victoria C.

Wow! Awesome giveaway. Painting furniture is still one of my favorite things to do! In fact, I’ve got a chair waiting to be painted and recovered and a dresser that is getting a total makeover once I decide on a color.

    10. Beth Forenz

I’m waiting in eager anticipation to hold a copy of Feels Like Home in my hands. I read the digital copy while on a family vacation at the beach. I’m so inspired to dive into several projects from the book. Yesterday I was eyeballing my nightstand, and trying to decide how I could paint it. Nothing is safe in my house! If the kids hold still too long, I might paint them too! Lol!
I’ve painted a lot of furniture, but I have never used any of the products in this giveaway. Sounds like a fun way to try something new!

    11. Melissa P

I have a sweet little corner cabinet that has patiently been waiting for me to find the time to paint her. She has a rounded front with a glass door and carved wood decorations that will be beautiful with a coat of milk paint! Thanks, Marian, for the inspiration, the encouragement, and the expertise (and the giveaway!).

    12. Dylon Lankford

Your style & paint line has been an inspiration to me and how I decorate my house. And I blame you for my love and going into debt over ironstone (haha). What a an amazing giveaway! I’ve got an 8ftx6ft hutch that needs some TLC to display my ironstone collection. Ohh how I’d love to win this giveaway!

    13. Maureen

I love this!! Painting furniture is my therepy 🙂 I’ve got about a million projects to choose from, but I think I’d go ahead and restore an antique pie safe that’s been waiting for me. It needs a few things put back together and MMS milk paint would be the perfect finish for it.

    14. Jeannine

I have so many “projects” waiting in the wings I ran out of storage space… but if I had Linen milk paint I would definitely use it on this antique sideboard waiting for its makeover…!! Such a great giveaway!

    15. katieonwhidbey

I have an old oak pedestal table with a surface that has suffered scratches (from kittens) and gouges (from an across-the-country move). Would love to redo it, using a wonderful paint product like these! Thanks for the giveaway, and good luck with your book. It is sure to be a best-seller.

    16. Lesley J.

This giveaway is amazing. I’ve learned so much from you, Marian. My first use of milk paint was a small table and I used grain sack. My next project is a small bench. I have the fabric to recover the seat (blue and white, of course). I’m still thinking about the legs…hemp oil to refresh the wood, or Artissimo milk paint. Anyway, thank you Marian. Can’t wait for the book.

    17. Mary Anne Saunders

I have a Hoosier cabinet that has water damage on the side that I am going to paint. I’m thinking milk paint would be perfect for this piece.

    18. Holly Massie

Love this!! Would certainly love to win as well — we just moved into a new home and I have several projects that would benefit. A bookshelf, antique table, old door for the laundry room, and others! What a lovely gift. Your book is already in my cart as well!

I’ve always loved the aprons and ohhhh and ahhhh to the paint and gift certificates too ???

    21. Peggy Pugh

I have been following your blog and you are an inspiration. I am a beginner furniture painter, but I absolutely love your picture paintings. My next project is a little bedside table that I’ve held back on painting because I was u sure if the which color to choose. I would love to be the winner of one of your drawings.

    22. Barbara Hale

Wow, pretty cool giveaway! I am just doing my 3rd project and trying to learn everything. I have done 2 huge mirrors….for myself. Now, I am working on my round oak dining room table, but 1st, the set of cottage chairs that were given to me. They had a 30 yr old yellowed varnish. Honestly, I couldn’t tell what was dirt or the discolored finish. Ugh! That was a lot of work. The seats were taken down to the board. I put 4 layers of padding and then covered with a creamy white fabric with scrolling stitching….sorry, couldn’t figure out a better way to describe. Anyways, that is what I am working on, now!

    23. Becca P

I have two pieces that need attention: an old tiger oak dresser with water marks on top and a chifferobe that has some water damage/split wood on one side. This giveaway would be perfect to help those antique pieces out! Thanks for all the inspiration you put out into the world!

    24. Cindy

Hello! Love following you and all of your accomplishments. I am looking forward to refurbished a curved front buffet I found at an estate sale. Still up in the air about what it will become! Thanks for all of your ideas!

    25. Terri Arnold

      Hi Marian,

I have followed your blog for the past year and was inspired to use milk paint on some thrift store pieces. I had high hopes and armed with your encouraging instructions, I painted my first piece over this summer. It was fun and a little scary I will admit. But I am now planning to paint a quilt cupboard my husband made for me when we first married 38 years ago. I would absolutely love to win your giveaway to use on my quilt cupboard.

Thank you for sharing your talent and experience with your readers.

    26. Mary Miller

    70. Hydie McDonald

This is such a great giveaway. My mother used to refinish furniture/antique items she used in furnishing our home in the early 1960’s. I have carried on the tradition and have refinished some of her items which she had “antiqued” . Actually one, I removed the green antique paint and discovered beautiful inlay on the top, so instead of painting I stained it in mahogany which was the original stain. I have just purchased two night stands to refinish. Not sure what I am going to do. Once I clean them and place in the room, I will have a better idea of what I want to accomplish.

    71. Caitlin Vaughan

I have a small chest of drawers that was my grandmother’s when she had her own home, then in the mid 1960s it went to a cousin who painted it in the “antiquing” style of the 1970s, was passed to another cousin, then another (I am 66 and had 32 older first cousins!), until it ended up at my Mother’s home in the 1990s. Fortunately is was painted blue and Mother waxed it a couple of times, but nothing more. I got it from my Mother about 10 years ago. It is the classic 3 drawer, inexpensive, early 20th century piece of furniture; nothing fine but very serviceable and it came to me with lots of memories! I would like to “spruce” it up with a fresh coat of paint and possibly new hardware (6 mismatched drawer pulls and obviously not all are original!). This package of goodies would give me the kick to get ‘er done!

    91. Sandy Mosser

What a wonderful giveaway! Thank you for doing this. No painting projects at this time. But, I am sure that will change after the holidays. I needed to take a break from painting furniture (my Mom’s hope chest and a small table that was my great grandmothers), the front porch ceiling and floor, walls, door and baseboards.

    92. Sheri

This is so exciting! Am eagerly anticipating my books arrival! I’d love to win. Have 2 twin beds and a chest I would love to redo!

    93. Ann

I am reclaiming a former junk room and making it into MY craft room. Re-purposing lots of furniture, in the process- this giveaway would be amazing to get! Wow!

    94. Lori Wilbins

I’m planning to paint my grandma’s cedar chest from the 1950’s. Thank you for the opportunity!!!

    95. Julie Diane Hansen

My bathroom is in need of an update. Painting the cabinet and walls are first on the list to do. You inspire me, thanks.

    96. Sharlene Maniscalco

I have a drop leaf table with a carved base. I want to use hemp oil on the top and paint the base – not sure of color yet.

    97. phyllis henry

Wow. Just wow. What an unbelievable list of giveaway items to help me get started on redoing some beloved bedroom furniture I got 48 years ago used. I “antiqued” it then and it is time to give it a proper finishing job. I love the colors you are including with this giveaway, but I know any would upgrade these pieces to be real showstoppers. I’d love to win, but I know the competition will be fierce. Thank you so much for your generosity, in products, but also in wisdom and encouragement. You are so special to so many of us.

    98. Anita

Thanks for the chance to win. I have an old end table that I have been wanting to paint. This is just what I need to get it started!

    99. Mary

Thank you for the generous giveaway! I’ve been dragging my feet on redoing my daughters’ bathroom built in cabinets. They’re sorely in need of a paint update, currently they’re orange/brown builder grade wood.

    100. lynn wheeler

An amazing give-away!! Just finished an overhaul on an auction piece I got. A petite dresser with a beautiful apron on it. It had originally been painted pink and then a creamy white. Some of the white was chipping off showing that fabulous old worn pink underneath. I left it as is but it had been stored in a barn for years and needed a major cleanup. It turned out beautifully …. It had its original crystal drawer pulls and the metal centers had rusted….It sold the very next day at the shop.

    101. Patty

I have loved every furniture project I’ve see you do! Especially the painted dresser with the design that looks like bone inlay with the rabbit! I am currently working on a project with that style of design in mind. It is a folding table that has a base that stands solid and the table top folds down to one side – so it can be set against the wall with a beautiful art work facing the room. I got the table for $40 from Facebook Marketplace – and it had a rough looking wood finish. Not worth restoring, but definitely worth painting and giving it a design on the table top! I won’t be able to do freehand work like your rabbit design, but I have a couple of stencils to work with. Would love to use your products! Thanks for offering the give-away!

      • Diane Stouffer

        Hello Marian,

I often said it makes me tired just thinking of all you accomplish in a day, week, and year. I have followed your blog over many years and appreciated the generosity you have shown in sharing your talents. This giveaway is another example of this. Best to you and your family on this new accomplishment.

      • Barbie Terpstra

I am going to be working on a little rocking chair that I got for a good deal on FB marketplace. It is dark wood & I will be painting it with white chalk paint.

      • Michele Vosberg

My project involves teaching my daughter how to refinish a piece of furniture. She and her husband just bought a house. They are now trying to furnish it on a low budget. She has been watching videos and trying to learn what to do, but she has never even painted a simple piece so she is a bit intimidated. I promised to drive across the country to Texas from Wisconsin and spend a week or two with her in order to help her with this project. She is looking for the right piece. I have already ordered your book, figuring that you would have a chapter on how you have finished all of your furniture pieces through the years, and she is excited to read it and learn more. I look forward to passing my love of “saving” old furniture to my daughter!

      • Jane

Oh wow, this is a fantastic giveaway! Right up my alley. I love to mix painted wood in my home and I have always wanted to try your milk paint. Everything in this bundle speaks to me. Thanks for opportunity to win!

    102. Kathleen

My daughter just bought a farmhouse built in 1863. Oh I do believe I will be helping with many vintage furniture projects.

    103. Pam Chesser

What a nice set of products to try out and enjoy!
I would start by transforming an old, small cabinet from my uncle’s garage/shop into a medicine cabinet for the bathroom. It has the cutest simple handmade knobs.

      • Carolyn

I have several projects going at the same time. My current project is a mid century side board that has been in our home since I was a little girl.
Knowing my love for furniture, my parents gave it to me. I want to give it new life. I also have a 1920 hutch that I picked up at a yard sale. I can’t wait to get started on it. Thank you Marion so much for always being such an inspiration.

    104. Rhonda K

What a fantastic giveaway! All of those products are awesome and would be so appreciated! 🙂 The piece of furniture I am wanting to work on, but have been putting off, is my dining room table and chairs. I have debated back and forth about whether I should just purchase new but this table has been with us ever since our kids were little and I think a facelift is just what it needs! These products will give me the boost I need to get this project done. Thank you for doing these giveaways. It’s fun to have a little “hope” that you could win…..and complete a pending project!

    105. Martha

What a lovely & generous giveaway! I loved your first book & I know I’ll love your new one with your great ideas & inspiration! I’m always working on one thing or another & have a veritable pile of furniture (mostly interesting chairs) waiting to have new life breathed back into them, not to mention an adorable little table I’m using in the butlers pantry as sort of a mini island that is begging to be painted a beautiful bittersweet.

    106. Dorene B

Marion, Your blog is what originally gave me the inspiration and courage to paint my first piece of furniture. After that I was hooked and it quickly became one of my favorite hobbies! I currently have my grandmother’s antique sewing table just waiting for a loving update. I think linen milk paint would be the ideal choice for this beautiful piece of furniture that holds so many family memories. Thank you for all of the continued inspiration you provide and for all of the generous contests with such amazing give aways. I am looking forward to the arrival of your new book as it will be the perfect fall read to curl up with as I sip a warm cup of tea and dream of all the makeovers and projects I want to do to make our home feel even more cozy in the winter months ahead.

    107. noreen kelly

really disappointing that these giveaways are only available in the US.

    108. Christine Irvine

      Thanks for the opportunity Marian!
I have enjoyed learning so many things from you. I have quite a few projects planned, but limited resources to get started. I’m looking forward to your book.

      Christine
      New Hampshire

    109. Diane H.

I have loved every one of your furniture refinishing projects. Each one is unique and better than the previous one in its’ own unique way.
I’m looking forward to using hemp seed oil to restore a rugged but lovely dining table on my patio along with an outdoor glider. Can’t to bring these back to life and preserve them. Also can’t wait till we can enjoy using them with our family of friends by having them over to celebrate.

    110. Karen

I bought 6 chairs that I am getting ready to paint and reupholster! Im gathering the courage as I write!
      🙂

    111. Fran

Great giveaway! I’m looking forward to first finding, then painting a storage piece for my office.

    112. Kimberly Carnegie Bruhn

Gosh, if I write this down it means I should do this project I’ve been putting off?! It’s a very simple secretary/hutch that I’d guess is from the late 1800s. The wood is a very orange-y oak and I think I want to do it in a warm white….so if I happen to WIN your lovely give-aways…I’m set! Thank you so much for including aprons for us more “messy” painters….my husband can paint a ceiling, stairs or banister and not get a drop on himself…me, ahem, not so much! Thank you!

    113. Sherry B

Wow! What a generous giveaway. I am looking forward to the new book as I am sure it is filled with inspiration. I am pondering painting a bedroom dresser and tall chest that we have owned since we were married 44 years ago. With it I’d like to make an upholstered headboard in a beautiful blue fabric, you have used so many I will need help to choose. Winning would give me the push to begin. Thank you!

    114. Bonnie

Congratulations on your latest book. You are always inspiring and have taught me so much about cleaning and refurbishing old furniture. I don’t think I would have had the courage to scrub a piece inside and out without seeing you do it first.

I look forward to working on a dry sink for my bathroom.

    115. MaryLisa

Wow…an awesome group of goodies! I’m planning on painting an antique oak dresser I’ve had for several years. I always thought I would keep it the dark stain but it just needs a change. It’s tall and has been used as my husband’s dresser so I’m pretty sure he will like it since I have other painted pieces in our room. Best of luck to whoever wins but my hopes are on me….

    116. Irene

What an AWESOME giveaway! I have a small cabinet that I need to paint. Thank you

    117. Julie K.

What an awesome givaway! I have been procrastinating on painting an old family piece for years! It is a small table that my mother and her sister used as a nightstand when they were children. They are both gone now, so this table has special meaning to me. I know I want to use milk paint on it so that it retains it’s character. This would be a first for me. Wish me luck! You have been an inspiration to me for years-I just don’t work that fast!

    118. Mary

Well I have jumped out of my knowledge base and comfort zone and have two mid-century Japanese chairs. While they need upholstery, there’s also woodwork and I’m not sure what I’m doing with either one. But it’s next on my list

    119. Anne

      Hi Marian!

I’m so excited the book is almost here! Looking forward to all the inspiration ?

My next furniture project to paint is a pine corner cabinet I rescued from an old empty house that the owners were going to tear down. I visualize the cabinet in my studio full of ironstone and books!

    120. Shelley Humpal

As usual you knocked it out of the park with this give-a-way too. I just picked up a six drawer 1850 cherry wood chest that I am trying to figure out what I will do to it. I love the piece and I am going to let it talk to me. Tell me what it needs. I love MMS products and would very much enjoy working with more.

    121. Beth Acton

I have 2 simple bookcases that I’m looking forward to painting once we get moved into our new house in a few weeks.
I love your blog and your home is an inspiration to me since I have always lived in “newer” homes with not a lot of personality.

    122. Patricia Smith

Can’t wait for your book! I am planning a redo of my guest room and want to get some inspiration first! I have already repainted a mirrored vanity that belonged to my great grandmother, and look forward to redoing a pair of nightstands (although, so far, I only own ONE…still looking for that second one!). Your tools would help so much!

    123. Jan Newton

I have a pie crust table I’d like to refinish.

    124. Jo

This giveaway is perfect… I have furniture to paint!

Thank you, thank you, thank you for being soooo generous!!!!

    125. kathleen kaliszewski

      bedroom dresser

    126. Heidi Demasi

Excited to get my pre-ordered copy of the book soon. The furniture tutorials are what led me to the blog, but I’ve happily found so much more!

    127. Jo

I purchased a solid small wood stool from Goodwilll last month and plan on painting it white and then distressing it.
Thank you for all of your wonderful projects with tutorials.
I look forward to your posts.

    128. Peggy M Hunt

I’m going to paint a carved wood fireplace mantel black for Halloween.

    129. Alina

I’d most like to give our headboard a good coat of paint! Thanks for the giveaway!

    130. Laura

Wow, looking forward to seeing your new book! I actually have two pieces of furniture that I need to finish. They are both antique. One was free from Craigslist. It needs lots of TLC. Will definitely need the help of my husband’s carpentry skills. I will be so excited to finish it because it is a beauty! It comes with a mirror and wheels on the legs and everything. I plan to keep the original black color as it will look classic, but it will definitely need painted. We moved into our renovated (still working on it) farmhouse in the summer of 2020 and this piece will look beautiful in our master bedroom. The other project is a newer yet old dresser for my son’s room. I am part way finished with sanding the top down and plan to keep the natural wood look for the surface and then paint the rest of the dresser a lovely blue. Still need to buy all the paints for these lovely pieces. Was thinking of using miss mustard seed’s milk paints as there are such lovely colors to choose from. A blue for my son’s dresser and a charcoal black for the other dresser. I have experience with using chalk paint but I’ve never used milk paint so these would be fun projects to use milk paints with.

    131. Patty Foster

I recently started following you and have started crocheting dish cloths from your tutorials. I love it!
I will be painting a cedar chest that was my mother’s. I am wanting to use it in our living room as a table in front of our couch.

    132. Gayla

I have several projects waiting. 3 chairs, a desk and a dresser. This is wonderfully generous of you

      • Judeth

What a great giveaway. It could you that. I am relocating for my job in a couple months. Very unexpected. I will need some new pieces of furniture (junk finds). Good luck with the release

    133. Sue Weston

I’d love to redo my very heavy, very serviceable red oak dining set!

    134. Krissy Giffin

My love of painting furniture came about out of necessity. Our family were experiencing some financial struggles, and I had access to some fantastic old pieces that needed to be loved. I grabbed some paint, brushes, and research and went to work. I made this a side hustle for a few years. The piece I am excited to tackle at the moment is a bench made from an adorable mid century chest of drawers. I’d like to find a unique color for this piece, and I can’t wait for life to slow down a bit so I can begin.

    135. Jan Nolt

Hmm, not sure if this is considered furniture, but my bathroom vanity is going to be one of my next projects. I want to paint it in a deep gray/off black color.

    136. Lynell Tagestad

I just retired recently and started thrifting and repurposing furniture and decor. I found your site about a month ago and tried the milk paint for the first time on a small table. I am now hooked! I can’t wait to paint some of my hoard from this summer which I found at garage sales and thrift stores. One of the pieces that I am most excited to paint is an old child’s wardrobe. I just have such a hard time deciding on colors as I love so many of them. I have been turning our old red barn into a studio and market, which I will be opening next spring, and hope to display many of the pieces from my stash. Thank you for all the knowledge and expertise that you share and this generous giveaway!

    137. Rose Anderson

I’m working on refinishing an antique potato bin. The finish is very dark and I think I want it natural. Hopefully the wood looks good or I’ll just paint it.

    138. Mary

Can’t wait for your book. This giveaway is great! I have two bookcases that need the loving touch of a makeover.

    139. Pat Cusyck

Hi Marion! I’m always so impressed with the furniture you paint & and all your other projects. Your style of decorating makes my heart happy. I am planning to paint an antique tool box that was my grandfather’s. I’m really looking forward to tackling this project with Miss Mustard Seed milk paint. Wish me luck!

      • Grace Jacks

I commented a few days ago but my phone crashed and now I can’t tell if it submitted. Anywho I would love to refinish an armoire and actually just found one for free on Facebook market place. So excited to start flipping this piece and see what new life I can give it.

    140. Laurie

I can’t wait for your book and I love this giveaway! I am ready to start painting a coffee table and end tables. Your blog is one of my favorites.

    141. Ann Baird

The piece I’d like to paint I intend to use by my bed, and I don’t even know what to call it. It’s old, has two doors and some decoration on it that I’d like to highlight somehow. You’ve done so many beautiful pieces, and I admire your talent.

    142. Bea

I have a large coffee table that was imported from England and I plan to restore the top which was damaged when drink glasses were placed there. I’m hoping that I can successfully restore the table top to it’s former attractive appearance.

    143. Patricia.

Your Canadian followers (like me) are crying over the US residents only for this prize pack.
Happy to share I am working on a cabinet for my bathroom. I am using Lillian from Mango line for this piece.

    144. elle

What wonderful gifts!! I would like to paint some wicker chairs. They are comfortable but need to be spruced up and a good paint job would do that.

    145. Sheila Cobb

My dining room table needs to be refinished.

    146. Rebecca Nelson

Thank you for the delightful giveaway! I want to find an armoire that has the right look and do a milk paint finish on it for a French casual antique feel. It will be loads of fun, I know. Your creativity is inspiring.

    147. Ruth Finley

I can’t wait to get your book. I love everything you share. I would love to redo my dining set. All of these supplies would be perfect.

    148. Kimbra

Oh how I love your books and can’t wait for this one! 18 years ago I found out my sweet baby had Spina bifida and my career path turned into an unexpected adventure of mom and homemaker. TLC was the rage and I created my own ‘while you were out’ with my husband coming home to interesting home projects or honey-do lists from my day of TLC binges. Furniture became my focus and later in 2015 I opened a store selling paint, teaching workshops and selling my flipped finds. Now my husband left his career and we make a living creating and updating cabinets. I would completely love to win your giveaway! ?

    149. J Thornton Wilson

I first began reading your blog when you were in the thick of furniture painting, and I was inspired to paint an old coffee table with Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint. After that success, I’ve painted many other projects, often after more Miss Mustard Seed inspiration. Now I’m looking forward to painting my dining room buffet in a rich shade. Thanks for this wonderful giveaway, but even more importantly, for all the inspiration and encouragement you provide! Can’t wait to get your new book in the mail!

    150. Kathy

What an amazing giveaway; I’m drooling!!! I’ve used your MMM paint before and love it. I have two mismatched antique kitchen chairs I’ve been wanting to paint and recover the seats; this motivates me to get them done. Can’t wait for your book to come out. Congrats on this huge book project. You’re blog is always an encouragement to me!

      • Diane

What a great giveaway! I have a vintage Broyhill Brasilia Magna dresser that I’ve been looking to redo. It’s pretty large so I’ve been procrastinating starting it. Maybe once the weather cools down 🙂 Good luck to all the entrants!

    151. Kimberly P

Wow, what a great giveaway! That would be perfect to get me started on my dining room table project 🙂

    152. Melissa

I have a beautiful small vanity that is ready to become more beautiful. Thank you for the giveaway!

    153. Sue M

I’m attempting to try redoing my oak dining room table by painting the base an off white or ivory…your fun giveaway would be perfect and just the inspiration for this project I’ve been wanting to do.

    154. Crystal

I just picked up a ‘new’ chair to update. It will need upholstery and a refresh on the wood. Would love to add to my supply cabinet.

    155. Carol

I am excited for you book to get here! I especially look forward to just this chapter — furniture. I have several projects lined up but especially want to paint a short 3 drawer dresser that has been in our family for generations. It was painted white sometime when I was a child and then about 20 years later someone decided to refinish it. They got started but never finished. I decided it qualified as shabby chic and it is currently in my living room. It is time to give it a new life.

    156. Debbie

You and Melanie have outdone yourselves with such a generous give-away! I can’t wait to watch the video from earlier today for your furniture painting tips and inspiration. I have sanded an old chest and need some motivation to start painting and decorating it. The give-away would certainly give me the push I need! Thank you for sharing your talents with us!

    157. Tracy W

The project I hope to refinish is a buffet in my dining room. I purchased it almost 10 years ago on Craigslist with the intention of painting it and haven’t yet! Gulp. This would be great motivation!

    158. Teri Sgro

      Marian,

I’ve been following you for years now…you are so inspiring! Sharing your knowledge so others can learn and develop their talents is so giving.

I have preordered your new book quite some time ago, looking forward to it!
I have been wanting to work on a small secretary/hutch desk that was my Grandmothers…and have been hesitant…I also have a metal top utility table with pop up leaves ( that I am currently using) I’d love to refinish the wooden base.

    159. DANA

I have an antique dresser with a mirror that I would like to paint. The mirror has beautiful curves and carved roses around it. It would be so pretty if it were painted and all the detail stood out. I have loved seeing all your projects over the years!

    160. Laurie Blaylock

You are the reason I started painting my own furniture. I was so inspired by everything you touched, that I had to try it myself. My next project is taking a credenza that I inherited from my mom and painting it to go in our hallway. I will be painting it with typewriter with a stained top. I am excited to get it done! I know it will look lovely!!! Thank you for all you do!

      • April R Sears

I am excited to refinish/paint my headboard and footboard. My husband built it several years ago and it is beautiful, but the black it is currently painted sucks all of the light out of our bedroom. I can’t wait to lighten it up!

    161. Eileen

Oh my goodness, what you accomplish in a day’s time! Can’t wait for your book to arrive. I want to paint my old American Drew hutch that was one of the first new furniture purchases we made in married life in 1983. It needs a good makeover!

    162. Terri Knight

I’m planning to refinish a dresser for my daughter’s room. My last project was white bookshelves for my living room inspired by your Instagram photos. I love your style, colors, and creative, warm touches.

    163. Christie

Looking forward to working on a desk for my home office 🙂 Congrats on the book almost launching!!

    164. Laura

A cupboard that I am going to be using for sewing supplies. Finally going to teach myself how to sew!

    165. Linda M Latt

This is a wonderful giveaway. I have not been able to work on furniture in awhile…my husband had 2 strokes in 2020 and I was recently diagnosed with Cancer, BUT I have bigs plan for 2022. I have so many great pieces of furniture to work on. This would be so great.

    166. Mary Beth

I’m giving my mother’s childhood bedroom furniture from the 1940s a makeover. I’d feel much more confident in a Linen Bee smock with some Miss Mustard Seed products in hand!

    167. Karen Harrison

Your furniture refinishes are my favorite. My next project is a desk for my 12 yoa daughter. It is actually a small bookshelf with a flip top desk on the back. I want to do something special for her. She is so creative and I want this to be her space to soar!

    168. KT BarTheDoor

This awesome giveaway would be wonderful to win, however, it would present a bit of a dilemma. What project would I do first! Ha!
Let me explain. I have been recovering for 18 months after a long illness and finally to the point of being well enough to begin some of the projects I have lined up! I have been watching many of your tutorials during this time. I have a lovely french chair with wood frame, an oak dresser, and a fireplace surround to paint= to name just a few. You have inspired me with your energy and enthusiasm. In addition, I would love to follow some of your tutorials for oil painting, especially for the miniature oil paintings for place settings on the table, so darling! I am obsessed with all your paint projects! I cannot wait to get going!

    169. Peggy

….I have a small antique buffet/server that I would like to turn into a kitchen island – painting it out and attaching a slightly larger, matching kitchen counter top that would provide extra space for seating. The table top height would work well for me when baking, serving light meals or buffet style gatherings.

    170. Angella

I have my grandmother’s buffet that I am looking forward to refinishing for my dining room!

    171. Chris

Hi Marian! You have inspired me to try several different pieces. I have stripped a shiny cherry coffee table and a little buffet and have fallen in love with the process and the transformations. I have a round side table that is my next project. I have been waiting for cooler weather to start. Your blog has been instrumental in my taking chances on these old worn pieces!

    172. Pamela Bold

I have an Eastlake chest of three drawers with a removable curved and notched backsplash, bought in Pennsylvania in 1970 at a flea market for $4.00, to refinish for the third time! I have lugged this treasure all over the country. In 1970 is was purchased with a mustard yellow finish. I sanded it lightly and used a Red Devil Blue latex antiquing kit on it, with eagle style brass backplate and pulls. It carried me through the mid-80’s when I used a stripper to remove all the layers and steel wool rubbed to a clear raw wood (not chestnut or oak). I used a dark stain with satin varnish on it to match our (ugly) mahogany bedroom pieces. It was loaned to my son and his wife when they had their first child, then second, to use as a changing table with storage in the all wood dovetail deep drawers. They changed the drawer pulls to a more contemporary style. (YIKES)!! It is back in the guest room of my seaside cottage on the Maine coast (in the home where I was raised), and is such a dinged-up eyesore! I bought several sample packs of your milk paint in sea-glass colors for oak splint picnic baskets to stack proportionately from largest to smallest, using hemp oil on one basket and your white wax on another – all this to decide which finish I will use on the chest. I LOVE THEM ALLL! So now after pre-ordering your book, I am looking for a bit more inspiration. Your paints are so easy for us retired (kitchen designer) senior citizens to apply. I also am looking for some appropriate pulls for the drawers. 10 more days for the book to arrive, and I am taking it to my scheduled maintenance chemo infusion to snuggle with and keep me company with their heated blankets and my special little book pillow for my lap.

    174. Jen

I can’t wait for the paper copy of your book! I would love to refinish a little drop leaf end table that I have had for years. Thanks for all of the inspiration!

    176. Sherri Gonyier

I have a library drawer cabinet that my Grandfather kept all his screws in that my Mom has had for years and I cant wait to work on it and style it! I waited so patiently and envied it and my Mom gave it to me a about a month ago! Thank You so Much for this opportunity!

    177. Maggie Garza

I have the perfect girl’s dresser that’s been sitting in my basement ready to be refinished for one of my twin grand daughters! It has been waiting for such a time as this!!

    178. Tamara

I am looking for a dresser and a small desk to refinish. I am constantly looking at FB marketplace. I am looking forward to the new book!

    179. Kathleen Lee

My daughter is getting ready to move in to her first adult apartment and I’m looking forward to helping her reimagine a few things to fit her “aesthetic” (including a dresser). Thanks for the opportunity! What a fantastic giveaway!

    180. Diane

I can’t wait to get my hands on your new book! I have so many project rolling around in my head and now hopefully I’ll have a few new ones to add to my list after looking through your book. Thanks for all your hard work and generosity!

    181. Fiona

I’m working on an old armoire right now. I’m layering chalk paint, milk paint, glaze and wax for a unique look. When it’s finished it will become the doorway to the bedroom in the cottage I am building. That way going to bed will be like stepping into Narnia!

    182. SusanIreneB

Today I put on my “move mountains in your home t-shirt to start an organizing project in my arts and crafts room. Tomorrow I’m wearing my Miss Mustard Seed paint brush t-shirt to paint my Grandmother’s small shelves for my grand cuties miniature shoes.
I’m hoping that wearing my Miss Mustardseed t/shirts as my new work shirts will keep me motivated to get these projects finished. Looking forward to seeing the new book.

    183. Donna Burke

My next furniture project will be my 1970’s china cabinet/hutch. It was my Mom’s who passes away ten years ago, and it fit the exact spot, but is “Early American” style which I do not like. I love rehabbing old stuff that others think is “trash”. Getting up the courage to just start- this post re energized me to do just that- JUST START. My house/home is my therapy in troubled times. I’m so excited for book- which I have indeed pre-ordered. These giveaways have been a little spark in my life- that has felt a bit sad this year. THANK YOU!

    184. Angie

I love your decorating style and making things look simple. I just finished a chair using Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint and love it. I love to find inexpensive pieces and play around with trying different types of paints. You are truly an inspiration for trying new projects

    185. Michelle Trabold

Oh my goodness, please pick me! My husband inherited his grandmother’s dining room furniture. We love it’s history and it was built to last, but the orange finish has got to go! I’ve been working on stripping the pieces for years. The sideboard is done and sealed. The table -that seats 10 easily- was fine but got stained black when some tomatoes were left on top to ripen but got there quicker than expected. Wah wah… Anyway, I need to redo the top and finish the china cabinet.

    186. Pat S.

Unlike your other followers, I don’t have finished projects under my belt. I simply love what you have done over the years and have always been inspired. All that time, I have desired to try my hand on a corner cupboard which I bought second hand. I think now may be the time, especially with the wonderful gifts you are offering!!

    187. kali

I’m most excited to start gardening, I cannot let the winter blues get to me this time!

    188. Kat

I can’t wait to paint my walls, I bought my home as a fixer upper so the projects are literally endless!

    189. Tami kamerath

I have an antique dresser I need to paint. I have painted with many different chalk paints but would love to try your milk paint.

    190. Eve Lewis

Such fun giveaways! Not sure what to paint. But I can sure find something.
      Blessings!

    191. Emily Thomas

You are so talented!! I’d love to win all these goodies 🙂 My furniture project for this weekend (hopefully ONLY this weekend!) is a wall pantry style cabinet that I was given from a friends 50’s kitchen remodel. It’ll be painted a beautiful creamy white. 🙂

    192. Nancy

      Hi Marian!
I love your posts. I’m a little new to them but they are relaxing and soothing to me after a rough year. I’ve worked on furniture for awhile so I’m familiar with it. I just bought a small buffet that I’m going to work on when the weather cools down a bit. Congratulations on your new book! Thanks for being such a generous person! You’re a great role model for humanity! Blessings!

    193. Tommy Jane Roberts

I have a secretary desk that is lovely but not an antique. My laptop fits nicely on it, and I write my cards and letters while seared there. But the surface is worn, and I often think how beautiful it would be painted. I am eager to start!

    194. Sue

I just purchased my first furniture project! It’s a vintage mahogany drum table. It has one drawer and carving on the legs. I plan to paint it a pale blue as my living room furniture is white with decor in blue, green and coral. Can’t wait to see your new book! I love your cozy style!

    195. Emily Dauscher

You and your interiors and projects have been a source of inspiration for years. Re-doing furniture is creative recycling of the first order!
      Congratulations on your success!

    196. Donna

What a great opportunity. My project would be to take a dresser out of the basement and give it some love.

    197. Joy

I have a chair that I want to repaint and reupholster for my bedroom – just need the time to work on it!

    198. Cheryl Loffredo

What an amazing and inspirational giveaway! I’m working on an Eastlake foyer table and chair. Oh, these pieces need some loving care. What attracted me to the table was the base of doweled wooden balls crossing at the legs. The decorative four corner top underside orbs were missing, so I replaced them with cute brass pineapples. Now, I’m trying to decide on a paint treatment. Thanks for helping us be creative in our own space!

    199. Patricia Kent

I can not wait for your new book and would love to try the goodies you’ve put together. I have a vintage bench that’s been waiting for a new look!

    200. Liz Hall

Hi Marian-I have 2 nightstands I need to paint and the Linen milk paint would be perfect.

    201. Laura

Truly an awesome giveaway! I would love to use the paint on my head and foot board bed. This would give me the “push” to do it.

      • Alice Blackmer

I’ve wanted for years to a linen white hunt board with pale blue and gold highlights. Perhaps I’ll get my wish courtesy of you! I admire your work so much. Congrats on the new book!

        • Amy

Hi there! What a great give away! I bought a buffet and I am looking forward to cutting the legs off (giving it short legs) and placing it under a double window in my library. I can’t wait to get your book delivered. All the best to you!

      • Zoie

I don’t have a piece of furniture yet- I am only an aspiring furniture painter! Recently I tried painting my grandmother’s old worn down chair and I realized how little I know about updating furniture! But working on that chair did something to me, and I’ve been dreaming of fixing up furniture ever since!

      • Robin Gerlach

I have two antique pieces that I have finally decided to paint. One is a sideboard that has a lot of drawers and carvings. The other is a desk/hutch piece with carvings. I was going to sand them down and stain white but am afraid it’s going to be too hard getting into those carvings. After looking at your furniture painting, I think that’s the way to go. Can’t wait to get your book!

      • Anne Tredway

Incredible offer. Now I want to paint a dark wood dresser. Your recent furniture makeover was inspiring. You are the best of the best.

    202. Chelsea thompson

My next project is finding a curvy buffet to use in our living room as a tv stand. Our house is 200 years old so whatever I find needs to have just as much character as the house does. And after that I am building a coop for my peacocks! I have 4 adults and 5 four month olds that need a new enclosure so I’m taking full advantage and including a waterfall/pond and a pub style coop inside of their giant pen!

    203. Dana

My dear MIL passed away from Covid-19 in Dec. Last month my husband and I traveled to her home to do our part of cleaning out. I was most interested in her sewing room, however I came home with her beautiful credenza. My two daughters each want this piece, so it remains to be seen who ends up with it. I’m planning on painting it, not sure on the colour yet. I’m going to clean it according to your directions recently found on your blog. I’ve got a place for it and just need the push to start work on it. There is potential for also getting her corner cabinet from the dining room! Thanks for all of your tutorials!

      • PHyllis

I have my grandmother’s buffet that I have used for many years, but I would like to change it from another brown piece of furniture to a beautiful painted piece. I have admired the pieces you have painted for many years and would like to try my hand at this. Thanks for the opportunity.

    204. Michelle

Thank you so much for giving us another super giveaway. So looking forward to your book. I am also looking forward to painting my grandfather clock. It’s not old but it was a gift from my parents. I never really liked the dark wood and have been thinking about painting it for a long time. I found a beautiful wallpaper to put on the back as well. Thanks again!

    205. ELIZABETH O MCCREARY

What a great give-away prize! I have a pie safe that my husband made for me years ago that I need to refinish in a more up to date style. This would be a perfect way to get that done! Thank you for the talent you share with all of us!

My next project is to repaint my childhood desk. I’m now using it as a nightstand! I’m so happy I still have it.

      • Theresa

I absolutely love your posts and stories! I’m excited to receive your book I preorder! My dad refinished furniture all his adult life and then began building reproductions of 1800’s furniture out of 100 year old barn wood. I inherited his love for refinishing furniture and have helped him as well. I have a telephone stand that was my first piece I refinished when I was 18. I plan on giving it a makeover since that was quite some time ago. You’re an inspiration to me and I’m glad I found you as my dad has passed away years ago and it’s like I have a furniture “buddy” again! Even though it’s through Instagram!

    208. Karen Platner

Oh my!!! I’m currently trying to figure out my workspace and a key element is the first piece of furniture my husband and I bought 41 years ago after we married- a small armoire with a beveled and arched mirror. Pretty workspaces really inspire and I’ve never had a space all my own, so going to make my current situation work! Love your style-

      • Susan

    211. Marisa Zappone

I just finished up my grandmothers vanity, and now looking forward to repainting another vanity table I found on Facebook. The women who I bought it from shared it was her mother’s. I told her I would treat it well! It really is an honor to be given a piece from someone’s past to love again!

    212. Theresa

      • Molly McGowan

My husband and I just purchased a 1929-30 larger camp on a lake in upstate New York that we will restore/ renovate. I would use the paint to restore some built-ins! I can see it now! So excited! Took your painting class, and loved it! Thank you for all the information and inspiration you share!!!!

    213. Jeanine

    220. Erica Havrda

    224. JeanaB

I recently bought an older lab cabinet that someone tried to turn into something…ummm…just not keeping with the nature of the piece. I plan on removing all the flimsy hardware, filling holes, painting, and putting on new hardware (that ties in perfectly w the design of the piece). I’m excited to get that started. Thanks for offering such a lovely give away! I feel sure you and your social media outlets have inspired many.

      • Rose P

I have painted many pieces of furniture but never with milk paint. I’m excited about trying it on something interesting that I find at a thrift store or yard sale. I usually have pieces waiting in the wings but I’m caught up on my items and my daughters. But I know something out there is calling my name! Can’t wait for your book to arrive!!

    225. Dawn Harris

I have been looking forward to refinishing a console table that was given to me by my parents and one which we use behind the sofa. 237. Linda

I purchased a dresser from an auction before I got married 45 years ago. I painted the drawers an off white 6 years ago but the rest of the dresser and mirror are a reddish stain. It’s bugged me ever since I painted only the drawers. This would be an awesome kick in the pants to finish this piece the way it deserves to be!

    238. Diana

    243. Karrie Sadzewicz

I have an old desk that I bought at a barn sale while we were in the process of building our house. It was actually the first piece of furniture in our new house. Since we were so close to moving in, I didn’t want to move it twice. I’ve been thinking about giving it a makeover for two years now.

    244. Arlene

I would like to paint my dining room table and chairs. They are currently an orangish oak color. You are such an inspiration!

    245. Lisa P

I can’t wait for your book to come out! I thoroughly enjoyed your last book! My next painting projects include painting the inside of our 1960’s china cabinet and painting our closet door (I’m recreating an antique door look to give that closet some interest). Those are great products in this give away so I’m keeping my fingers crossed 🙂

    246. Jane Bamford

I’ve been working up the confidence to paint two pieces. One is a French style armoire with wire mesh on part of the doors. I know it will be amazing when it’s done, but just need to start. The other is an early 1900s dining room piece, very ornate. My mom said my great grandparents had one like it! Both pieces are in the rooms where they will stay, but they definitely need to be painted.

    247. Pat

I have a ‘junk’ cabinet that has been waiting for years for me to come up with the perfect makeover for it. I am looking forward to your new book – and maybe the inspiration to complete the transformation!

After transferring a couple of years ago I decided we finally need to start making this rental our own. What better way than some painted furniture? Keep up the great work!

    250. Maureen Ingram

I am too old to paint big pieces so I am having fun working on trays, candle holders, lanterns, smaller, faster, and can use lots of colors. A hobby I can’t stop! I admire you soo much. Congratulations on the book.

    251. Lydia

I found two old chairs to paint and recover. Planning to hand dye some fabric with natural indigo using Shibori techniques for cool patterns!

    252. Elise Falvey

Hey there! Congrats on the new book! I have a ton wonderful projects to paint and refresh….I would love to win!

      • Debra Rutland

What a wonderful assortment of needful painting items
I seem to be stuck on chairs at the moment. Chairs are hard to navigate. After painting, I have been embellishing them with primitive curly ques and flowers.
I am not an artist but they are definitely one of a kind. Would love to have the opportunity to try all of these wonderful items. Thank u for sharing.

    255. Gayle Stewart

What an amazing collection of gifts. They have spurred me into action! I have a desk that belonged to my husband’s great grandmother. It is very dark walnut, quite heavy, both visually and physically, with some damage. I have wanted to paint it white for some time, as it just doesn’t fit in our home (we live on the Rappahannock River close to Urbanna, VA). But I have always worried about its antique value. Not any more. This is the week I begin. Thank you for the inspiration!

    256. olivia

Thank you for the giveaway. I have several pieces that could use hemp oil. I have other projects I could use the paint on. Would love to win.

    257. RuthAnn Harriet

I am working on a couple of antique side tables. Two of them I am going to stain the tops and paint the legs with milk paint. The other one is a small square table with a drawer. It has a terrible red stain so I am sanding it and painting the whole thing with MMS milk paint. I love the chippy look of milk paint. Thank you for all the tips and inspiration.

    258. Hannah Neel

So excited for your new book to release! I’m planning to paint my bedroom furniture and would love to use milk paint when I do!

    259. Vicki

Oh my gosh!!! Another awesome giveaway….. I never win anything but it’s still exciting! I have a darling tiny school desk with tiny chair, both have iron bases. They came from the old school in Haverhill, NH. My grandma got them when the school was getting rid of them to put in new ‘modern’ style desks and chairs. She got a set (chair and desk) for each us; me, my mom and my sister. I would love to use all these fun supplies to freshen them up!!?

    260. Lynnett Ratchford

Thank you, Marian, for such a sweet package. I have been wanting to try the hemp oil on my kitchen cabinets. They are 39 years old, a medium oak finish, and really showing some wear. I know they probably need to be stripped down and re-varnished, but there are other projects ahead of this one. I have also purchased new hardware to dress them up a bit. Before that is installed no doubt I will need to refinish them. Any suggestions?

    261. Lisa B.

Oh my, what an inspiring package give away!!! My husband and I are thinking about our retirement home. I would use this gift for redoing some of my furniture for the home we choose! You are such an inspiration and I’m always looking at things in the view of a new coat of this or a completely different purpose than what it was intended for. Thank you for keeping the creative fires burning!!!!

    262. Lana Manis

Would love to win this! I have a simple antique wooden church bench that I need to strip. It’s from an old country church where my Daddy was ordained to preach in the 1960s.

    263. Sarah Meyer

I am working on an antique bedroom set! An armoire, dresser with mirror, vanity, and curved bed:). I can’t wait to get started. I just finished painting old map files (turned into coffee tables) and a large armoire. I used Typewriter on one of the tables and the armoire:).
Thank you for the opportunity and writing your book!

What a beautiful new book! ??? My family has been restoring a home built in 1830. My very sweet carpenter found a little old antique baby armoire and brought it to me because he said he knew I could make it beautiful again. I plan to put shelves in it and use it as a shoe armoire for my daughter’s room. My daughter and I plan to do this project together when she comes home from college over the holidays. Would love to use MMS supplies! Thank you and congratulations again on your book! Can’t wait to read it!!! You are my FAVORITE! ???

Thank you so much for the fabulous giveaway. I recently found a very old 3 drawer chest on the street in Hershey. It is airing out in my garage. I cannot wait to paint it for my son who just moved into a cottage on a lake. I am thinking of painting it navy blue for him.

Sounds like your latest give-away would help!

    285. Grace

I have several beautiful antique pieces that were left to me by my late maternal grandmother & my 92 yr old mother has recently given me some of her lovely antique furniture. 295. Elizabeth Earl

      Hello there!
About 3 years ago, I painted a beautiful large chest of drawers in your pink arabesque shade. They went in our baby girls bedroom and have looked so wonderful. But we are moving to our new home next month and so I’m thinking of moving the drawers into another room and repainting them. (Gutted to see the arabesque go, but our now 3 year olds new bedroom is a little too small for her large pink chest of drawers)!
I was debating a neutral shade… absolutely love your colours and need a little inspiration!

I’m actually living in rural North Yorkshire (UK), realise I cannot win as I’m outside the US. But just wanted to comment anyway, happy to pay shipping fee for all these wonderful items! Xx

    296. Leslie Polatty

Wonderful giveaway! I’m looking at organizing my paint work space. I’m thinking of painting a small table to help with organizing my art supplies and pieces. ?

    297. BrendaK

I am looking so forward to your new book! I’ve enjoyed the sneak peaks and I’m ready to hold the book in my hands to flip through and read. I have a linen cabinet that my Grandfather (born in 1912) built out of a shipping container. It survived a flood in 2003, which sadly, his house did not survive. I would love the motivation of this giveaway to get started on refinishing this piece. As always you are such a motivating inspiration!

    298. Wendy McM

I just received my dad’s childhood dresser and mirror which needs some love and attention. I’ve never painted furniture before so this will be a new experience! I’d love to win and get your wonderful supplies! Thanks!

      • Courtney

What a fun and generous giveaway! I’m planning a project that will be near and dear to my ❤️ My mom recently passed away and while cleaning out her home I found my furniture treasure….a small dresser from my childhood was tucked into a closet. It will be beautiful with a little TLC, some paint, and books to inspire.

      • Joyce Durfey

Would love to redo and Upolstery an old tiger oak rocker

      • Elaine Sirna

What a great list of goodies! I have a pretty five drawer dresser with original hardware that I use to store fabric and yarn. It was a $40 score from one of my local thrift stores!

    302. Marty Walsh

What a fun giveaway. I am contemplating painting the (orangy) pine bedroom set in my guest room. I’ve looked at hundreds of pictures on Pinterest, etc trying to get inspired. I’d love to get the room spruced up before Christmas when my daughter and her family will be here.

      Thanks, Marian!

    303. Virginia Cassaday

I’m just starting a furniture project. I am interested in finding the right paint to use for a bombe chest I bought second hand. The paint is cracking off. It has a lovely floral swag design I hope to recreate after painting sanding and repainting. So do you think the milk paint would be a good choice? I’d love to win some along with the other goodies.

    304. Melissa

Another amazing giveaway! I just found a French chair on Facebook Marketplace that needs a makeover. I envision it painted linen white with a dark wax to bring out the details. Thanks for the opportunity to enter!

    305. Kris Fisher

      • Jen Clifford

Wow, awesome giveaway! I like painting smaller pieces so I have a stool I’ve recovered in an old tartan blanket but need to paint the legs! And a few shelves…

    308. Beverley L.

Hmm….yummy give away. I plan to paint a rocking chair which I bought at Goodwill for my mother. She loved it. She passed away seven years ago and now the chair is mine.

    309. Krista

What a great give-a-way! I’m excited for your book!
My next project is my great-Nana’s hutch. I’ve had it for about 12 years and haven’t pulled the trigger on anything yet b/c I love the natural wood look- but it’s orangy and needs a change. Her parents immigrated from Norway and she was the youngest of 12 kiddos. I want to somehow incorporate some of that Norsk charm into it. It’s a mid-century piece with great, clean lines, but I only have the top and it’s currently on a mahogany buffet base. It’s a challenge!

    310. Chrissy Damon

What a wonderful giveaway! I’m excited for the book to ship soon. I’ve been debating painting or limewashing our hand-me-down orangey pine dining set. It’s got a great shape, just not a fan of the heavy orange tones. A bit nervous to pull the trigger on such a large project. ?

    311. Nancy

Oh my, what perfect timing if I was to win this generous give away!
I have a beautiful round French coffee table that my mother left me.

Thank you for this generous opportunity!

I have an old dresser that I’m hoping to paint and update. It will be a fun project!

    313. Linda Ann

I have a couple French provincial pieces that have been looking me dead in the eye in my bed room who’ve been waiting on me to rehab them. I’ve definitely been in one of those creative valleys, that seem to suck the life out of my inspiration. I’m excited for your book Marian, and loving the mango paint, to bring life back to my creativity!

    317. Lisa Sales

I have a little dresser plus two spool beds used by helpers on farms during season to paint, using them for my grands spent night with Grammy room! Wish me luck!

    324. PJ

I have several pieces of furniture that need sprucing up: my dining table and chairs, a chairside chest with drawers, and a set of nesting tables. I plan to start with the easiest project which is the nesting tables. How appropriate that someone who loves books as much as you do should be an author again!

    325. Joanie

Oh, Marian, what a great giveaway! I have small benches at the ends of twin beds that I need to paint the legs and recover the seats. This giveaway would be just the incentive needed. Thank
      you for your wonderful blog.

    326. MaryAnn Bassett

My Amazon tracking is showing I’m going to get your book on release day…..Can’t wait! I have a few pieces waiting for paint, but first on the list is my dining table. Looking at it right now , covered with a tablecloth.

    327. Nicole Holland

Thank you for the opportunity of this giveaway! I will be painting an antique dresser soon and often use your previous book and FB photos for inspiration. I must admit, I still have so much to learn. I’m also excited about your new book! You truly inspire me, thank you ma’am.

    328. Heather Frazier

We were blessed to just buy a beautiful home and I would love to paint some things, also have some antique furniture I would love to paint. Starting with my armoire then dresser. Love all the color schemes and your stuff you post. You have such great style and I am drooling over your photos. Thank you for giving us an opportunity to win this give away. Truly appreciate it! God Bless! ❤️

    329. Maribeth

I’m in! Can’t wait for my book to arrive!

    330. Deborah DeLeon

I have followed and loved your creations for years! In the 1970’s, I was 16 years old and came across an antique hutch sitting in the front yard of a home I purchased the step back cabinet for $50 and took it home to refinish it. I am now in my 60’s and that cabinet has traveled with me ever since. I have been wanting to give it a makeover for years. Maybe this is the inspiration I need!

    331. Marcy Brenner

I have an old (antique) hutch that I inherited from my sweet parents. If this hutch could talk…It’s a beauty with glass doors on top and cupboards on the bottom but she’s hidden under glossy brown paint and a mellow yellow? interior. I’m dying to uncover her natural beauty and start fresh. Your giveaway might be just the encouragement I need to do it!

    332. Crystal F

I just bought a desk from my sister this week that I will be refinishing soon! I have loved it for years for the simple design and cannot wait to give it a new look!

    333. Mary

Ive been looking at my living room bookshelves and thinking its time for a refresh. I had painted the wall behind them a slate blue with milk paint no less, but its time for a coat of white paint. The bookcases would look good in a moody blue color. What do you think? The rest of the room is decorated in blues as well.

      • Carla

My bedroom is truly in need of a makeover with so many competing wood tones: a mahogany bonnet chest, blond contemporary bed frame and mirrored dresser & 1800s oak secretary – thinking of not touching the oak secretary with bubble glass and painting the other three components in perhaps a white-off white shade- I am relying on your blog for inspiration and guidance Marion!

    334. Sally Baur

I want to repaint my China cabinet

    335. Sharlene Piscitelli

This is a spectacular giveaway! I actually have two pieces of furniture that I would like to makeover. One piece is the china cabinet from my dining room set which I want to repurpose in my living room. It has a lot of “faux” wood so the paint would be perfect! The other is a dry sink that belonged to my great grandmother.

    336. Micki harmeson

What a wonderful gift and one I would love to share with my daughters. I would love to tackle a step-back cupboard with this gorgeous paint. Love your blog. I look forward to it daily!
      Thank you

    337. Daisy

We just sold our house with most of our furniture in it. I only kept a few pieces that I just couldn’t part with. One of those is an old buffet that I’ve been wanting to work on. Although it’s a beautiful piece, the paint is chipping and it’s in need of some TLC. I’ve long admired you and your work. I follow you on IG and enjoy as well as am inspired by the little squares on your feed. This is an incredible giveaway, very generous, which will certainly make someone very happy! Congratulations on your beautiful book! I can’t wait to see it!

    338. Stephanie

A large pine hutch that has gotten sooo orange. It’s one of my favorite pieces of furniture and a focal point in our home.

    339. Nancy

We have been doing a home renovation for months now and we are getting around to putting the house back together. I’m unable to buy lots of new furniture right now so I’d like to revamp what I have. I want to begin with a China cabinet/hutch.
      What an exciting giveaway.
Your paintings, home, furniture pieces all are so gorgeous.

    340. Brenda

I’m so excited for the new book! Can’t wait to see how you’ve transformed your bedroom! My daughter is getting ready to do a couple of pieces including a china cabinet and a buffet for her new bakery. As I am usually her partner in crime….I’m sure I will be volun-told! Congrats on the book!

    341. Ruth Newton

Oh I’m so excited for this giveaway. My first furniture project I did was an old dresser from my dear neighbor who passed away after a battle with cancer. She was like a second mom to me so redoing this piece meant a lot to me. After seeing the before and after, I was hooked on refinishing furniture. I hope to find another special piece that I can bring back to life. Congratulations on the book!

    342. Amanda Dalton

    345. Meghan Bash

Wow! Generous giveaway! I have so many pieces to work on, but the one I’m most looking forward to is an old buffet that was my moms. It was the first piece of “grown up” furniture she ever owned, gifted to her by my dads mom.

    346. Jennifer

WOW! How exciting! I just picked up an antique round side table that is covered in thick white paint. I want to strip the top and hemp oil it, and sand the rest of the table and repaint with milk paint.

    347. Rosemary Snukis

My next project for renovation is an antique jelly cupboard. I originally planned to leave the finish, but after seeing yours on IG today, I think a beautiful coat of #mmspaint is just the ticket!

      • Elisabeth

Soooooo generous and kind of you! I have done a lot of furniture painting over the past few years, but now i want to tackle recovering a vintage French chair in an antique linen, as you have done, and painting the frame. And possibly a small chest of drawers to match! Have never tried mms milk paint, so I think that would add to the adventure! My fingers are crossed!!!

    348. Shelley DeCoeur

This is an amazing giveaway & I am so excited about your book! My next project is a large step back cupboard that belonged to my great grandparents. I rescued it from the garage & am giving it a new life in our kitchen but it needs a fresh coat of paint to begin this new chapter!!!

    349. Susan Votta

Such an inspiring giveaway! About 20 years ago I was painting furniture for my home with the help of a woman who held painting sessions in her basement. I got busier as a mom, returned to full time work & my painting teacher passed away. I want to get back I to it but I get confused with so many new paints and methods on things I follow. I have a storage piece in my living room that I want to refinish as it doesn’t look right with my current decor. Your giveaway will give me the information & inspiration to get back to an old passion. ❤️

    350. janet m carruba

I have this old entertainment center that we have made into a cabinet (new shelves) to hold all our homeschool books and toys on the bottom! I have been anxiously looking for ideas and considering colors to paint this “monster” (dark heavy wood) so it can brighten up our den area. It’s texture will look wonderful under the right color of paint. It has brass knobs and pulls which i may keep.

So this is my entry for this giveaway!

    351. Kelly

What a fantastic giveaway! I can hardly wait for your book to come out!

    352. Caroline S.

I’m looking forward to refinishing an old China cabinet I got for $20. It’s in great condition. I am planning to use it to store linens.

    355. Sue in Northern Iowa

I’m excited to get my book and find inspiration to paint an old pedestal table that’s way too shiny and orange. It’s an unusual hexagon shape with Mission and Empire elements and I’m really stumped.

    356. Sue Kueffer

My next project will be an old store shirt/sundry display cabinet for my future in-home work room. Your generous giveaway would provide much needed inspiration for taking that first step.

      • Mary Koenig

This is such a generous give away! At my house, we always have a project going on. I have 3 things to paint: an old milking stool I got at an estate sale, a set of nightstands that we deconstructed from an antique desk, and an antique buffet/sideboard that we are fixing up to make look pretty once again. Thanks for recording the live on igtv- it was fun to watch.

    367. Jami Martin

What a wonderful giveaway! I have a vanity that was my grandma’s that I want to turn into two night stands. This would be helpful in getting me started on that project. Thanks for your generosity!

    368. Susie Theroff

How generous! I have several pieces of furniture that I need to paint but my current project is a console table I make from an old cabinet. I want to paint a landscape on it like the ones you have done.

    369. Jennifer Bagheroghli

This is such an exciting giveaway!! I found a beautiful (although rough) armoire on the side of the road and haven’t gotten the courage to paint it. I’m hoping that if I’m chosen to receive this giveaway it’ll give me the push to finally paint this beauty and it will stop glaring at me from corner of my room?

    370. Sandie

I can’t wait for Amazon to send my book! This give away comes at the perfect time! I just brought two chairs out of storage to work on and need help getting started!

    371. Rachel

I was eyeing some pieces at our local thrift store that would be fun to do! I am a complete novice, however!

    372. Nancy Marthaler

Thank for the generous giveaway! I have an old, brown buffet that would look so much better in Linen milk paint – this would be a great incentive for a long-delayed project.

    373. Jean M Clayton

I am making a cutting board and a planter. Small items, I know.

    374. MaryEllen Dilliplane

Amazing give away! I painted my bedroom set almost 10 years ago after my husband passed away. I only had one nightstand and have finally found another that matches and I’ll be painting that the same color. I also had his desk, an older large clunky lad, that I decided to cut in 2 to use as side tables in my guest room.
I love I could save it & actually put it to use in our home.

    375. Sherry Parks

What a glorious package. I’m currently working on an old buffet that has burn marks and cracks.

    376. Mary Borgsmiller

Wow o Wow!!! This is the best one yet!!!! I have a dresser I would like to work on as well as a couple of chairs! I can[t wait to get the new book also!!!! Thanks for all of the inspiration you give us all.

    378. Elizabeth England

We have a 20 year old Ethan Allen dining room table that has never fit the style of our home, but the size is great! It’s a warm reddish tone and is always covered in a table cloth. I can’t wait to strip it down and paint it, I have been intending to for ages! I’m so excited for your book, and LOVED your interview on Homemaker Chic podcast!

    379. Teresa Murphy (The Tin Mitten)

I actually just today scored an amazing vintage writing desk with a fold down top that I ONLY bought because I imagined the exact Miss Mustard Seed paint color I would use on it! ❤️

    380. Theresa Halverson

I would so much love to win your giveaway! I have an old , huge beautiful antique buffet that has a beautiful top piece with glass doors. I’ve decided to start cleaning up and give it a new look in our Millhouse. I believe the linen color would be a perfect color for it! ❤️

    381. Darlene Champion

I’m so excited for this chapter! I found Miss Mustard Seed blog by looking at your milk paints. It was a blessing two fold over! I’ve used your milk paint on built in shelves, a rolling island, and a few items I’ve sold. It was so easy to use and I learned a ton about prepping the furniture. I started using hemp oil on my vintage pieces and have loved the outcome.
We are building in a mudroom sink surround based on Downton Abbey’s kitchen. I want it to look original to the house and surround a beautiful sink on cast iron legs we were able to salvage from the original kitchen. We need to paint all the old cabinets and cupboards we are using to create the surround to look cohesive and as if they’ve been here forever.
It’s been a joy to follow you all these years. I’ve learned to think outside the box, to reimagine items, and to find all the little storage jars, boxes, pottery, etc, to store all my finds in.

Thank you for all the inspiration!

    382. Chrissy Sills

What a fantastic giveaway and I’m loving all the pre-order bonuses, especially the downloadable print and online version of the book! I’ve got a dresser that was my dad’s when he was growing up. It’s so beautiful but very dark and I think some milk paint and strategic white wax would really bring out the beautiful curves and lines. I’m finishing up a refresh of my guest room / home office and think it might be perfect in there as nightstand where it can really be seen and appreciated every day. It’s in my main bedroom now but tucked away where it isn’t that visible. Moving it to this new location will let us see and love it every day.

    437. Suzi

Itching to paint an old Victorian sideboard that has seen its better days. Would like to get it out of storage and use it.

    438. Nancy

Ooooh….love this giveaway! So many fun products to get our creative on! Let’s see how to pick one project from my hoards of wood furniture I have been collecting to paint. I am waiting for those winter days/nights when we tend to become hermits. I have a end table, 2 fabulous vintage rattan chairs, 4 dining chair, a small bookcase….I think everyone gets the picture but I could go on. hahaha. I think my first project will be the end table because it is a sweet small piece that I have some fun ideas in mind for. Thanks again for your generous giveaway.

    439. Jennifer

Wow! I pre-ordered pretty much as soon as the book was announced but I see some videos I can’t wait to watch that I didn’t realize were available. I did sign up for the art tutorials but I am SO EXCITED to see how to build beams-I’ve always wanted some and I will make them! And how to paint cabinets, I think that needs to be a project out of necessity. Last summer, with all the was happening in the world, I became a fearless remodeler! And I’m ready for some new projects. Think I’ll wait on the book to decide what to do first!
Thanks for doing the generous giveaways Marian! ??

    440. Yvetta

We turned a bedroom into a library and the closet into a nook for a desk. I have the desk but it desperately needs a makeover. I love the pieces you’ve done with the stained tops and painted bottoms, so very inspiring!

    441. Jennifer Erickson

    463. Susan

Love the colors you have used in your home. I have a small console table from my neighbors house to paint. It was near their front entry door for as long as I knew them. Sadly they passed away and their daughter gave me the table. I know my neighbor would approve it being redone and in my home and will be a special memory of them.

    464. Haley

I always have a number of projects on my to-do list. I am a vintage market vendor in the Idaho/Utah area and am flipping pieces often. I have an old buffet (around 100 years old) in my garage though, that I’m am getting ready to give some tender loving care to. It’s one of those pieces that is in pretty rough shape and needs some repair work done to it. Repair work is not my favorite to do, painting is, but I hate seeing these beautiful pieces become landfill and the feeling of seeing a piece destined for the trash become a treasured piece of furniture and adding many more years to its existence makes my heart so happy.

    465. Jill

Wow! That’s extremely generous! I have a lovely breakfront china cabinet that was given to me by my aunt. Unfortunately, its painted BLACK. I’m more of a pastel kinda girl. I would love to get some of our beautiful paint on this piece. I love reusing old things and giving them new life.

    466. Sara

I am hoping to paint my Lane cedar chest I got when I graduated from high school. I love the size and shape but the floral design on it doesn’t match my decor. Thanks foe the opportunity!

    467. Judeth

    468. Cindy d

I have a few furniture projects that I’m hoping to work on this winter. Winters in Maine can be long and cold, so it’s nice to have some projects lined up for winter weekends! I have an old armoire that I think I’ll strip the paint from and if I like the look of the wood underneath, may wax it and leave it raw. Have a couple of small oak curvy front small bureaus that I’m using as nightstands in our master bedroom. One is currently painted an done is stained and is a little too yellow for my taste. So, now I need to decide if I’m painting them or stripping and leaving them raw as well. Then I have a couple smaller pieces that I am definitely painting. Love your blog, can’t wait to receive your book, and would love to be the lucky winner of this giveaway!

    475. Janet Lawter

What a great giveaway. Marion you literally inspired me to paint furniture and restore what could have been lost treasures.
My next big project is a tiger oak buffet in pretty bad shape. But it needs to be salvaged and spared the landfill. Looking forward to your new book and new inspiration.

    476. Belinda Clark

I am finally getting my own studio/project room. I found an antique, expandable burled leg table and chairs and a barrister bookcase that I am cleaning up for it. Trying to decide on fabric for the chair seats and curtains, which will be the inspiration for paint colors for the furniture.

    477. Betty Bashaw

Wow! This is such an amazing giveaway. I’ve been refinishing furnture for several years. And now my daughter is beginning her refinishing journey. 🙂 She just “rescued” a 1930’s chest with the most beautiful detailing. Helping her will be my dream job. I’ve never used Milk Paint before, and I can’t wait to get my hands busy. Miss Mustard Seed Hemp Oil has been a staple in my home for years. I had never used oil on my pieces before, but it is a treasure. Thank you for introducing me to this amazing product.

    478. Mary

What a great giveaway! I have a table that I would love to use these products on.

    479. Jill Barber

I have a number of pieces that are waiting for me to get to them, and this giveaway would give me the incentive to get started on at least one of them!

    480. Keyra

What a nice and thoughtful gesture! I’m looking forward to updating an old hutch that’s been in my family for 3 generations now! I’m a little nervous to tackle this project as it means so much to my family. I don’t want to drastically change anything, just give it a much needed makeover. These products would certainly get me on the right path.

    481. Erica

I am excited to work on an old buffet. I bought it years ago. My husband reinforced the shelves inside the buffet and reglued the legs. Now it’s time to start painting.

    482. Julie Ritter

Hello Marian – I am especially excited to work on a curved shaped dresser that I have. I am thinking I will paint it dark grey or black with maybe a French type applique and glass knobs. Pretty specific I know : ). Hopefully it comes out as pretty in real and in my mind. Thank you for all the advice and tips over the years. You are the first furniture artist I followed way back.

    483. Ellen

One of these days I hope to redo a table and paint it black using chalk paint. Good giveaway!

    484. Rhonda N

Oh! Oh! Oh! This is the giveaway for me! I just love your milk paint and used the Linen color on a four poster bed. I watched your videos and followed your instructions. It was easy and the results are beautiful. That was 3 years ago and it was my first try at using milk paint. I am ready for my new projects. I finally found a solid oak farm table that I want to paint the legs in Linen and clean up and oil the top. I could use the gift card to find some chairs the go with the table and paint them to match. I also have a vintage dresser that needs painting. I just completed my search for vintage glass knobs for the dresser. So….now all I need is the paint and supplies!! So excited. Thanks for a chance at this great giveaway Marion. I have a 600 SF little farmhouse and I am trying to make it ….Feel Like Home!

    485. Teresa K Carr

So many projects, but I think my next one will be an English buffet I just purchased. Thanks for the opportunity.

    486. Karen Schmidtka

Marion–I’ve been following your Blog for the past 6-years–love everything about it…miss seeing you at Luckett’s…i have an antique buffet and a tea cart that are waiting for just the right color…thank you for being so inspiring…

    487. Cassandra E

What a fun giveaway! I don’t have that much furniture, but I will be searching for/making a cabinet for the kitchen. My builtins match your island in color. I currently am using a wire rack to hold about half my kitchen, (very small house), so look forward to replacing it with something a little more finished.
      Eagerly awaiting the book!

    488. Betsy

Great giveaway! I have a few pieces of furniture to work on, but I think the first one will be a simple table from my Grandma’s house.

    489. Carol Gregg

I have an old TV armoire that I can’t seem to part with because it is great for all my winter clothes. It really could use a paint job to get rid of the orange colored wood lol! Love your blog!!

    490. Jaime

I have a cute wood table that I primed and is ready to paint white. It has cute details and will fit between my brown velvet wing back chairs in my bedroom. I discovered I have bone spurs only lower spine that has set me back but hopefully with some treatment I can get it done.

    491. teresa murphy

I just found the cutest little wood cabinet with such fun detail. I don’t have a plan for it yet, but I keep looking at it and know the perfect place will present itself!

      Thank you for the giveaway!

    492. Michele Taylor

I have a dining table that has needed to be refinished for about 20 years, but I’ve never had the courage to tackle it! If I win, this will make it happen!

    493. Jennifer

For my immediate project should I happen to win I have an antique Amish cabinet that I believe was a wardrobe. I think I’d like to keep it in that capacity but she needs some love to help her be her prettiest. Such a generous giveaway, I think a few makeovers would be possible! ??

    494. Gina

Looking forward to painting my son’s bathroom vanity.

    495. Tracy Suzanne DeLoach

Hi Marian. My next project will be a wood bed that I’m guessing is from the 1930’s or 40’s. It has layers of thick awful paint on it that looks like a parent let their child paint it. It’s going to be a tough project, but it has beautiful carving that I can’t wait to uncover. Best of all, it was a road side find. I’ve enjoyed watching each new endeavor you have tackled & achieved, with your book being just the latest. Thank you for sharing all your wonderful ideas and creations with us. I always learn something new. Thank you so much for the opportunity to win your really generous giveaway.

    496. Jennifer

Since Marc and I moved into our new house, I’ve been accruing new pieces to refinish. I haven’t tried Mango Paint, and would love to experience Melanie’s labor of love! The pinafore apron would make the best apron!

    497. Janet Sims

Absolutely love your blog and great giveaways. I do not have a piece of furniture sitting around (yet) to redo but just recently redid a nightstand for my daughter. I would love to try different paint on my projects. I mostly use Annie Sloan but love the look of your projects therefore would love to try something new.

    498. Annette Hargett

What a fantastic giveaway! I have painted with various other paint types and would love to try milk paint. I have several upcoming projects but my coffee table would be my first, next would be a settee/bench handed down from my mother that is going to my daughter for her home. Love your blog!

    499. Brandi

What a generous giveaway! Thank you for the opportunity to win. My next furniture project is to refinish an antique washstand. I’ve been going back and forth on whether to paint it in Artissimo or Linen MMSMP. But I’m also curious about the type of wood underneath the years of paint that’s currently on it, so I may strip all the paint off and see what I discover.

    500. Bambi S Mayer

What a fun giveaway!! I have painted several pieces of furniture with chalk paint but have never used milk paint. I have an old chest of drawers that belonged to my Grandmother. I’m sure she got it second hand. It isn’t in great shape and wouldn’t refinish well but I think milk paint would be perfect on it, so that’s what I’d use the Linen MMS Milk Paint on. Thanks for the opportunity to enter.

    501. Sharon

Thank you for another generous giveaway and for the upscale title of “furniture artist”. My next project is long overdue. It’s the circa 1960’s Sears maple table that I grew up with and is still faithfully used through six children and 47 years of marriage! Many thanks and congratulations on your new book.

      • Kat Whipple

I plan on woodworking two Christmas tree stands and a headboard before the end of the year. I started woodworking last summer to make furniture for my husband and I’d first apartment together. Building furniture from scratch was empowering and I’ve been wanting to use a milk paint!

        • Jeannie Fine

I have wanted to paint a few pieces of furniture but haven’t taken the plunge yet. I enjoy your blogs/post. Congratulations on your book! Love the antique artist items that you have shared and your paintings.

        • Susan Petersen

I am looking forward to a armoire with a French Painting on the front. I have pictures from high end stores, would love to copy and don’t know where to start? You are so gifted I thought you are the perfect one to ask!❤️

      • Nancy Lambring

As a collector of early American painted furniture I am hoping to learn some techniques to help me restore the paint or finish where our pets have left their mark over the years. As a recently retired social worker I finally have the time to pursue this interest!

Thank you for all the inspiration you provide through your blog and tutorials. I can’t wait to receive the book!

    502. Laura

I have one piece left to paint from a 80’s 3 pc entertainment unit that belonged to my husband’s aunt. The first two pieces we use at our lake cabin. The last piece I plan to use in our sun room for the grandkid’s craft supplies. Congratulations on your new book!

    503. Callista

As a real estate agent, I am sometimes given wonderful furniture pieces that the sellers do not want. Last week I was gifted a 7 foot long farm table with a reclaimed pine top and huge turned legs. I can’t wait to paint the legs with some chippy milk paint. The hardest part was trying to find someone to move it to my garage. Your website has helped me more times than I can count. Thank you for all your awesome information.

    504. Nicola

I have some dining room chairs I would like to redo! I am so excited about getting the book, everyone at work is very curious about it!

    505. Adelaide

Exactly what I need to get started on a few pieces sitting in the basement waiting for some TLC. Perfect motivation to have all the right goodies to start the projects. So excited!

    506. Martha Bradford

I’m going to give new life to a three season porch over the winter. These are the projects:
      1. Slipcover a daybed and bolsters
      2. Paint three currently mismatched rocking chairs
      3. Purchase and refurbish as needed a case piece for storage.

Winning this giveaway would be a wonderful kickstart!

    507. Shari L Beck

I have an antique wardrobe that I haven’t gotten to and would love to be equipped to tackle it!

    508. Terry

I have loved working on furniture most of my (long) adult life and really thought I knew it all until I met you through your blog and Instagram. You have taught me so much (even though I rarely paint furniture). For years I have avoided a Mission book case I have. The finish is in poor condition and the very dark stain just doesn’t blend with the rest of my furniture. I intend to tackle it this winter (a good season in California that those projects). Cannot wait for your book.

    509. Connie

I have been painting furniture for about 20 years and Mango Paint is new to me. Ironically, I am currently working on my daughters’ rooms and their names are Sophia and Melana! My next project is a nightstand for Sophia. Wouldn’t it be great if the paint on her new nightstand bore her name? Thank you for this giveaway opportunity, Marian!

    510. Karen

@missmustardseed thank you for another generous giveaway. I’m overdue to redo a cabinet in my family room. I want to use mms milk paint for character and texture. Best to you as your launch date draws closer.
Much success on your book as you spread far and wide the love of home and decorating.

    511. Megan Weaver

Ohhhh an exciting and generous give away!!!
I’m always painting something. I’m known for always wearing sometime that has paint on it. Haha. So I guess an apron would definitely come in handy!
My next project is a desk that was in my grandparents house. All the grand kids (my generation) used to leave each other notes in it for whomever came to visit next! I’m happy to have this desk and the memories. It’s a curvy long legged desk with a drawer and is in serious need of a fresh coat of paint. I love the simple details and curves of it.
Excited to read your new book and fill my head with future projects!!

    512. Jamie

My kitchen table which I have already painted 4 times!
What a fabulous give away. ??

    513. Tracy L Smith

I have a not so old dresser that I’m hoping to make look more old with some fun paint techniques. This dresser will house my art supplies.

    514. Tracy

I would love to redo my kitchen table and chairs. You are so generous with these giveaways?

    515. Sara

Thank you so much for the chance to win such an incredible giveaway!? My next project is a tiny broken down dresser found for free on the side of the road. Can’t wait to give it some love and see it come to life! So excited for your new book!!! Can’t wait to see it!?

    516. Becky Peterson

So inspired, am hoping to paint a contemporary hall tree with MissMustardSeed paint.

    517. Laurie

I have two projects… One is a 40 inch round unfinished old farmhouse table that is covered with a vinyl tablecloth… The second is to paint my cabinets, a project I have never done before!

    518. Mary Beth Ferrara

Because of your inspiration I’m getting ready to redo our living room & dining room. Your new book will be super helpful!

    519. Astauffermom

Oh Marian, I am excited about it all. I am just starting to learn how to bring furniture back to life. My friend and I just took a dream to a reality this year. We started an antique booth in the Branson, Mo area back in late March. We are having just a ball learning and dreaming! You have always been an inspiration to me and through your blog, instagram and now your book ….You are helping me DREAM BIG! Thank you so much!

    520. Lisa

What an incredible giveaway Marian! I have just finished painting a vintage round farmhouse table and starting to prep an antique buffet. I’m really excited to see what she tells me. I sometimes start with one thing in mind and change direction.

      • Jessica

Right now I’m working with my 12 year old daughter on sanding and refinishing a small pine flip top desk. Furniture projects are so much work, but so worth it!

    521. Erica Swagler

Such a wonderful giveaway Marian! All of the painting supplies and my favorite apron from Linenbee. Looking forward to receiving my copy of your book next week!! Eeek!

    522. Stacy Thompson

I have an early 19th century beadborad closet with baboo rod and wooden wheels i am goinh to paint for my sister’s cottage. I would be delighted to see your books as I have always been inspired by you. I have painted a 19th century buffet and created drop cloth slip covers due to you. I am home right now as I just had surgery to remove my nipple on my breast. Please pray all is well. Thank you for bringing joy to my days.

    523. Kaycee F

Oh my goodness, your giveaways are so very generous, thank you again for the chance to enter.

I really enjoyed your IG video showing how your straightened up the wicker trunk, as well as the blog post. You share such valuable tips, along with your beautiful content.

I would love to transform the Hitchcock side table I recently purchased from a thrift store. I love the Miss Mustardseed paint colors Grainsack and Typewriter.

    524. Kim

I’m looking for a dining room buffet to paint. I can’t pass up a pretty dish and need the storage!

    525. Suz

What I really want to fix up is our lovely but blotchy farm table… I’m intimidated though, so what I’d probably start on is a small plain wooden stool we use a lot. I do love furniture makeovers and wish I felt like I was good at them! Thanks for your giveaway; sounds like the perfect confidence jump-starter!

    526. Shonda

Hi Marian!! Congratulations on your new book! I just love you & everything you do! Your beautiful home is absolute GOALS!!! I am currently redoing my bedroom. After I finish painting the walls I’m gonna paint our bed & dresser. So, that beautiful linen color would be the PERFECT COLOR for them:) fingers & toes crossed lol Good luck to ALL!!! :):):)

    527. Alisa Maricle

To start small, I’m going to refinish my husband’s childhood rocking chair, circa 1951.

    528. Robin

What an amazing opportunity and package. I have painted furniture in the past but put it aside for awhile. Would love to have these wonderful supplies to start again. Thank you for the offer.

    529. Phyllis Runyon

I have friends coming and we’re heading to St. Simons Island, Ga, for a few days. We’re gonna stop in Savannah at an quirky antique store where I hope to find some storage options for my studio. I love your studio and all your storage pieces!

    530. Andrea

I have so many. A console table, a piano (if I dare), a kitchen cart and others. What a fun giveaway.

    531. Roberta

Wow! Such an awesome giveaway! I just picked up a cherry entrance table (Bombay piece) that I’m using as a sewing table in my studio. I want to paint it black to go with my studio furniture.

    532. Ronda

My daughter over filled her bathtub which ran through the ceiling into the living room downstairs ??‍♀️, since we have lots of fixing’ to do anyway I am looking forward to updating some furniture pieces in my living room!

    533. Lynn

Another great giveaway to inspire us. I’m refreshing an old table that has a great top but the base and legs need paint to update it. I’m inspired to go with green like in your kitchen!

    534. Nicole Culbertson

I am excited to start on a tall dresser I recently found at an estate sale down the road from my house! It is a very beautiful and solid piece with ornate legs and the most beautiful tear drop pulls I have ever seen on a dresser. Leaving the top and the legs a natural wood tone and the body in typewriter. I plan to try and mimic the hemp oil/wet sand look I have been seeing on the MMS insta! I also just want to say milk paint was an absolute game changer for me and the esthetic I was looking to achieve when I paint vintage pieces, it really is the most authentic “worn” look out there ?

    535. Daniela

This is the first time I decided to participate in one of your giveaways and I’m excited about it!! I love having projects at home. I’ve been looking to renew the furniture in the guest room. 🙂

    536. Lorrie

Such a fun giveaway! My next painting project is an antique dresser that’s been loved too much (or maybe not enough?) and needs a paint job to be beautiful again.

    537. Liz Marquardo

      Hi Marian!

I’m a relatively new reader to your blog (and mostly Instagram) and I’m really enjoying your ideas, inspiration and encouragement! I would like to replace the dresser in my daughter’s room with something similar size but thrifted. I think it would be fun if it ended up being a painting project. I’m also repurposing some of our old kitchen cabinets in our laundry area and would like to paint them. Thank you again for sharing your creativity with us!

    538. Frances

Hi there, wonderful that you are doing a giveaway! I am painting in a 24’ travel trailer I have remodeled inside – I lack a great desk/art table with character that is also lightweight I can incorporate into my redesign. Many thanks!

    539. Stephanie Little

What a fantastic giveaway! I will be helping my daughter paint chairs for her 1st apartment! So bittersweet!

    540. Kelly W.

It’s almost time! I have been waiting patiently for the new book and I can’t wait to dig in.

I have a tabletop hutch I want to paint and add to my coffee bar for more storage. I hope to tackle that soon!

    541. Barbara

I have a table/desk that needs to be painted. I’m thinking of boxwood or typewriter. I preordered your book ages ago and I can’t wait to get it and read it!

    542. Susan Cook

My list of furniture painting projects is long, but first on the list is finishing a storage cabinet in my art studio. It holds a lot of my supplies and I’m grateful to have that storage!

    543. Pakster

I have a narrow nightstand that needs a lot of work but it’s the perfect size. I’m hoping it’ll be my winter project.

    544. Elena Colucci

Congratulations on your book! I have two chairs belonging to my mom who passed away in 2017 that I would like to paint and an old wooden chair purchases at a flea market that belonged to my dad who passed way in 1987. These items are very special to me and I would love to use all of these lovely gifts to finally do them and enjoy them in our home.

    545. Kerri Bell

Such a lovely giveaway! We are about to give our kitchen a makeover and I’d love to upcycle an island. These items would really help towards making that a reality!

    546. Claudia

I am going to attempt a small piece (used to hold the wash bowl & pitcher, can’t remember what they’re called) that was my MIL’s (smells a bit smoky) and an old trunk my friend just gave me. I kinda want to try both milk paint & chalk!! Thanks for the chance to win!!

    547. Vicki Senter

I have a highboy that is begging me to give it a new lease on life. I purchased it several years ago because when I saw the piece it spoke to my heart. I loved it but I knew I needed to make it look more like it belonged to me. It needed to be lighter and less formal looking but I have never gotten up the courage to pull out the paint and make it truly mine. I am impatiently waiting for your new book to be delivered to me so I can pour through it and hopefully take that first step to make my highboy the statement piece I know it has the potential to be. I so enjoy your all your posts. Thank you for being such an inspiration. May God bless you and yours.

    548. Nan Burger

I’m looking forward to redoing a very highly detailed side table! Lots of scrolls etc.

      Thank you for your generosity!

    549. Jeanie Sears

I was just recently introduced to missmustardseed.com and I love it! I so look forward to your posts each day! I’m excited to paint a very old piece of furniture that was my Mother in law and Father in laws from around the 1930s. It’s an old corner cabinet that truly needs some TLC. It will be a great fall project.

    550. Mitzi Willis

This has been a difficult year for me and I am wanting to reboot my passion to paint. I have watched many of your painting videos of furniture and painting on canvas. Your ability to stay focused and complete projects of all kinds is amazing. This is something I am working on daily. Presently, four chairs, needing a new finish are calling my name! Your generous giveaway has stimulated the desire to go forward with renewed attitude. Thanks so much for you just being you!!!

    551. Anna

Well I am very new to this world, but recently I found you on Instagram and I have been loving your projects. I am looking forward doing my first furniture project! My goal is to repurpose a chair and transform it to a rocking chair. Wish me luck…..

    552. Anna

I am wondering if Inam allowed to enter several times ?! Another project that I have is a fireplace in the master bedroom. I hope I win this giveaway

      • Julie

I have wanted to paint my grandparents dining room set for years, this would be just the thing to finally get me started. They had this set on the farm in the early 1900’s in what is now a suburb of St.Paul

    553. Rebecca

Just reading everyone’s comments is inspiring! I have a few projects that will need paint. I have several vintage lamps that belonged to my mom that I’m going to update with paint for my daughter’s house. I also have a dresser that’s way overdue for paint. When I bought it in the late 80s at a used furniture store, I meant to paint it. Here I am 34 years later still using it having never gotten around to painting it!

    554. Sue S

I have a lovely Duncan Phyfe dining table that is in need of a makeover so it can move from the garage into our dining room. These supplies would be an amazing way to get moving on the project!

    555. Robin Edler

I have an antique Eastlake piece that I’m excited to update. Theses supplies would make that job so much easier & certainly inspire me!! ??

    556. Heidi N.

I have a lovely antique buffet that needs to be spruced up. It will change the whole look when we paint it. Can’t wait! ?

    557. Maureen

I’m looking forward to refinishing a small dresser that belonged to my daughter as a younger child. It’s lime green and fit in her room decor so well. She has outgrown it and her taste has changed, so I’d like to paint it a dark blue gray color!

    558. Sonya

I have so many furniture pieces that I need to work on. Who ever wins will be getting some amazing prizes.

    559. Molly

Hi! I’m excited to finally work on the piece I picked up and use as a kitchen island. Thank you for inspiring all of to continue to make our homes beautiful!

    560. Sally Nygren

      Hi Marion,
I am hoping to start refinishing some old stools I have picked up in the last year. I would like to use them as plant stands in my home. Luv your milk paint!

    561. Deanna

      Hi Marion,

I have a couple of old wood crates that were in my dads garage I want to preserve. Plus I have a vintage Picnic basket with the wonderful green and navy plaid lining, still in amazing shape but the outside needs a little TLC and Fixin. Little projects but important ones. <3 Thanks for this opportunity.

    562. Linda K Shultz

Thank you for your generosity with this giveaway! I am redoing our guest room and have a TV cabinet that needs new life. I plan to paint it and attach some transfers so it will coordinate with a dresser that I rescued from the curb and refurbished. This offer would help me a great deal. Thanks again!
