Today, I am having a bonus giveaway because my friend, Julia of Ponder & Purchase, wanted to join in on the celebratory giveaways and she sent me some amazing goodies for one lucky winner.  In addition to the vintage and antique art supplies from Ponder & Purchase, I’ll be adding in a $100 gift card to BLICK (or the art supply shop of your choosing), a perfect package for any artist or inspiring artist.

Feels Like Home Book | Miss Mustard Seed | #feelslikehomebook

While the book Feels Like Home focuses on interiors, DIY, and home decor, there is an entire chapter on Creative and Work Spaces.  I think it’s so important to have a space to work that’s conducive to productivity and creativity and to have tools that get you excited about your work and creative interests. In addition, I am a believer that anyone can be an artist.  Sometimes you just need some inspiring tools and a little encouragement to get started.  Maybe this fun prize will be that encouragement.

The components in this box are almost identical to my antique draughtsman’s box.

It has beautiful brass tools, a brass protractor, a bone-handled ruling pen, this sweet teen-tiny pencil.

What a fun giveaway! I am most excited about the drafting set. My Father-in-law passed away a few years ago, and he was the consummate engineer. I put his drafting tools in a shadow box so we could all enjoy them and remember his attention to detail. I would use the ones in the giveaway :).

      • Mary

I was just telling my husband that I wanted to start painting, so this giveaway was perfect! I think I’m most excited for the antique box.

        • Sharon

What a beautiful and intriguing collection!

The drafting supplies look especially interesting to me…

Can’t wait to get the book. Congratulations

      • Carrie

This is such a great giveaway! I would especially love the antique draughtsman’s tools. While they are functional, they are also beautiful!

      • Joyce Durfey

I have been wanting to learn to paint with water colors! I also would love the vintage paint board so cool.
        Joyce Durfey

        • Karen Seger

Love this collection. I have my Gramma ‘s art supplies and recently started sketching again.⁹

      • Nancy

Such a generous giveaway, I love the drafting set. It would be a gift for my husband. His father used a similar drafting set for designs and electronics for early televisions . In 1950 he told his son, (my husband) a television would be so large and so thin it will hang on a wall. Imagine it took til the 2004 but it indeed is here.

      • Barb

        Love the drafting set!

    2. Clorinda

I would love to win. I pretend to try to be an artist.

      • Susan Cohen

Beautiful giveaway! The pastels are calling my name!

    3. Marcie

I love the drafting box. I would give it to my son who is an apprentice jeweler. Or maybe I would keep it for myself and try to get back into hobbyist architectural drawing. Hmm.

      • Janet

Ok, so to narrow down to one item is next to impossible, however the paint palette seems to be calling out to me every time I scroll! I have a craft room that I share with my kiddos (7 & 9) as we love to sit, at different times or together, and just relax and have fun! I’m so thankful for this room, especially during the times we are in, it has allowed us to really enjoy each other and just create!

    4. Tracy Sbordone

Oooooh! This is right up my alley… the draughtsman box is so beautiful! As are all the other goodies!!!

    5. Holly

What a fun giveaway! Love the draftsman box and the palette.

      • Tanja Gross

        What a fun little collection!

    6. Róisín O Meadhra

Hi Marian what a wonderful giveaway its amazing. The watercolour set and the draughting set took my fancy!! but then so did everything else too!! I am just about to train myself in archaeology illustrating and honestly i think i would keep it all for me? I absolutely love your blog posts and e eruthing you fo and share so generously. Róisín x

      • Rosemary

Wow! This is amazing. The pastels are most intriguing to me. Thank you.?

    7. JeanaB

What a great give away! This grouping covers a lot of artistic territory, but my favorite is the Reeves watercolor tin. So far, I’ve only put my watercolors in an Altoids tin. Lol

      • Melissa

It is all so sweet. My daughters and I love to paint and draw together at the kitchen table. This gift would be a fun addition!! Thank you for sharing all of your creativity with the world!!!
        Xoxo
        Melissa

    8. Mary Beth Lott

Like everyone else, I’m drooling over the antique drafting box. It’s a piece of 3D art in itself. Second would be the box of Reeve’s pastels. Life would seem more exotic with a tin that said Made in England! A tin full of pastels- even better.

    9. Michelle

Thank you so much for such a wonderful giveaway. Well I would gift the drafting set to my younger cousin who is an architect but I would keep the art supplies for me! Looking forward to your book.

      • Beth Forenz

What a lovely prize, I’d be excited to win any of it! Thank you Marian for opening my eyes once again to the value of these little vintage treasures. My teens and I scour antique stores regularly, but I very rarely buy anything. After following you on Instagram and reading your book
(which I loved!!) I’m feeling so inspired to look for vintage items to enhance my home decor. I’m super excited to frame a hand smocked, vintage, baby dress that my great aunt made and my youngest daughter was dedicated in.

    10. Fran

What a fun giveaway! I’m most excited about the pastels—I really want to give them a try!

    11. Tanya

Hi Miriam. I am so excited about this giveaway. I’m a watercolor artist and very passionate about vintage/ antique items. This giveaway is a win win. Every single item looks fun but my favorite is the palette and the draft box. Thank you for putting such a nice giveaway. Good luck to every single participant.
      Tanya ( Biotadrawings) 🙂

      • Anne

        Hi Marian
The whole giveaway looks amazing! I came across old tubes of watercolors from my paintings days, over 20 years ago, and they are still usable! I would say my favorite pick would be the watercolor tin to fill and start painting again! Thank you for being so inspiring ♥️

    12. Jo Nelson

While one can never have too many art supplies, ephemera is what gets my heart skipping beats. Then you add the drafting kit to complete it. My dad was a mechanical engineer and all those tools bring back many warm memories for me. Thanks for the chance to win.

      • Sarah

I just love all the bits of old ephemera! I made junk journals from old falling apart books and make them into places to keep special memories. I fill them with old ephemera pieces I have collected and also with random images I find in old books.

What an awesome giveaway! Someone will be very lucky.

    13. Linda Napier

So amazing! Love the draftsman kit especially!! Thank you!

    14. Robin B Deitrich

I’d love to win this beautiful group of vintage items!! Hard to decide which is most exciting. I have to say the mixed-media ephemera. I recently completed my first mixed media project- a set of 3 tiny houses which are framed and on my foyer wall. I’m looking forward to trying some more!

    15. Linda Loiseleur

What a fantastic giveaway! As a person who adores antiques and all kinds of creative endeavors, I’d be beyond thrilled to win this. Marian, thank you for being such an inspiration!

    16. Jean Elliott

What a fabulous giveaway. I love love the drafting box. That would certainly be displayed open somewhere in my living room so I could enjoy it. I’m going to checkout Julia’s shop!

    17. Brandi Pratt

I love the drafting set. But am totally addicted to the watercolors! Such an amazing vintage tin.

    18. Denise Castelli

The pastels caught my fancy as well as the set of nibs. Thank you for the beautiful & generous giveaway. Wishing you the best with your new book!

    19. kathleen kaliszewski

I like the pastels and the drafting set, thank you.

    20. Karen

Marian, I am so excited about this giveaway as I am just starting out on my artist journey and am so smitten with all these art supplies. My favorite would be the drafting kit and the palette. Such amazing tools! Thank you to both you and Julia. You make us all winners with your generosity in sharing all your knowledge and talent with us every week.

    21. Dana Barbieri

What a generous giveaway! I love it all but the watercolor set is maybe my favorite!

    22. JoLynne

What a gorgeous collection. I love old things. I want to do more watercolors. I have also dabbled in oils. So much to learn. Thankyou for this generous offering ?

    23. Heather Benton

Wow! That’s an amazing list of goodies!!! I would be most thrilled to receive the drafting box. I’m starting my first university course ever (at 65) – taking landscape design and the tools inside would be a huge incentive to get those plan drawing done!

    24. Dorene

Such a wonderful prize package Marian. Each item is special but the vintage watercolor tin and drafting set caught my eye. I love all types of creative endeavors and my son is an artist, antique collector and art teacher, so I am sure that I would share the prizes with him if I were lucky enough to be chosen as the winner.
I am looking forward to your book release. Thank you for all of the inspiration you provide to your readers!

    25. Phyllis

It’s too hard to name one favorite piece as I love equally the drafting tools and the ephemera. Each reminds me of specific people at a time in my life when I knew that design would be part of my career path in life. Thank you as always for sharing your extensive knowledge of these elements as well as sharing tools for us to expand our application of this new information. You are so generous to do this!

      • Jane

Marian such a sweet giveaway, I am not an artist but a dear friend has starting painting again and this would make a great gift for her!

    26. Karen Harrison

The whole batch is wonderful! I would be most excited about the watercolor tin as a gift for my 12 year old daughter who is just getting started painting and the draughtman’s set for me as I LOVE it!

    27. Ellette

Oh my gosh, thank you! I love the antique watercolor sets!

    28. JC

What fun artist toys! The pastels would be so fun. I’ve never tried pastels before. The tin is so charming, but my absolute favorite would be the draftsman’s box and especially the charcoal holder pen…no more messy hands! Thanks for the chance to win. Happy creating!

    29. Kellie Hoff

I would love the painter’s pallet! I would hang it on my wall in my studio as art. I love it all but that is definitely my favorite! Thanks for the opportunity!

    30. Jayne Tynan

I would love those vintage pastels!!

    31. Connie

The beautiful antique drafting box is definitely my favorite! The whole collection is exciting, & Julia must have a wonderful shop! So generous of her & you too Marian!

    32. Andrea

Oh, I love vintage things. I love all of it!

    33. Peggy Ariaz

What a great giveaway! I love the antique drafting box.

    34. Fonda Rush

I am most enamored by the vintage ephemera, especially the card with snaps on it! Thank you for the opportunity to win!

    35. Ellen Sloan

Im most excited about winning the certificate for supplies.

    36. Kaycee F

Thank you for all the information you share along with all of these cool antique art supplies. I learn so much from you and truly appreciate all that you share. I think I’m most excited for the water color tin, I just love it! But, I am also excited about the drafting set. My husband was a drafter that used pen and ink making electrical Schematics for a utility. I would love to pass on this set to him, he would truly love it. It would fit right in with his own tools from back in the day! Thank you for the chance to enter.

    37. Bridget

I’ve been loving vintage art supplies both to use and to frame as art in the house.

    38. Lydia Langston

What a fun giveaway. My fav is the antique drafting box. Oh wait it might be the epherima or the pastels. Hard to pick, I love them all. And only two weeks until the new book. Yeah❤️❤️

    39. D'AnnZ

The drafting box is lovely. I don’t know why I never thought to collect vintage drafting tools while I was a drafter 40 years ago. I guess I was always trying to save money to buy a plastic template! Aside from the drafting box, I also would consider the ephemera collection to be my fave since I adore vintage type and papers. Thank you!

    40. Alison S

I would love to be able to give my husband the drafting set. He is truly an artist and it would be a wonderful surprise for him.

    41. Cydnee Palmateer

Such a thoughtful gift! As someone who is learning to watercolor (yes, I have taken your The Atelier Class!) I would love the Reeves paint box and think of the others who used it while they too were learning. I love your blog and have learned so much!

    42. Mary

What a generous giveaway. The wood palette makes me smile and wonder what art piece was last done in those colors. Love it.

    43. Dana

I’d love your book or the artist set! It’s been a while since I’ve been able to do much art , but, I retired this year and we are building a little cottage in the woods (we are actually doung the building) and your book would be so helpful and loved.

    44. Jo

Thank you for this opportunity, what awesome treasures. I especially love, love, the patina on the watercolor tin.

    45. Tracey

The watercolour tin is so sweet. How thrilled my artistic daughter would be to enjoy it. Wishing you much success with your book.

    46. Mayanna

As an artist who creates architectural drawings in ink and watercolor, this giveaway has my name all over it! Like all your giveaways, the collection is so interesting. Thank you.

    47. Rose Cunningham

You continue to inspire, Marian. Thank you for the encouragement to create!

    48. Jan Newton

This is an awesome giveaway and anyone would be lucky to win it!! I’m most excited about the wood palette, pastels (love the tin), and the drafting box!!

    53. Claire

I started trying to practice penmanship and learn calligraphy during the pandemic and actually started to get decent at it! I’d would love the brass tool set with the dip pen nibs. Also the set of paper ephemera is very special!

    54. Maribeth

Well…… if I have to choose one thing in the giveaway that sings to me it would be the draftsman box. I am eagerly anticipating your book’s arrival at my door!

    55. Nancy M

As a art teacher for 25 years who is now retired,, I have accumulated a few vintage supplies of my own. I would love to add to my meager collection with this wonderful giveaway you are sharing. I think we are kindred souls who share the same mantra: “ Do something creative EVERYDAY!!” It is good for your well-being and your mind!

      • Kim Golding

The Antique drafting box is definitely my favorite.

    56. Stefani Shorts

I can’t pick just one, but I really like the drafting set and pen nibs! The watercolor set looks really special too tho.

    57. Cheri

Choosing a favorite item in this amazing list is impossible! I was drawn to the nibs first as my calligraphy practice is calling me back lately! Those watercolors are enticing too!
      Such a generous giveaway!

    58. elle

The antique drafting box is my personal favorite, but the antique pastels would be perfect for one of my granddaughters and the ephemera just right for another granddaughter. My daughter-in-law could certainly use the gift certificate for Blick. It would be so much fun for all of us! What a generous gift!

    59. Katrina

This is an sweet giveaway. My son just graduated from college majoring in graphic design and loves all things art. So would definitely gift it to him. The antique drafting box would be a favorite.

    60. Renee Brennan

Oh my goodness what a fun giveaway!!! So many goodies to explore. Those pastels and drafting tools!! Hard to choose!!

    61. Michele

The vintage pastels really excite me. I love the idea of these being Vintage and wonder about the person who had them initially and their thoughts, ideas, etc. Also, I’m just getting my feet wet with creating and art, I feel that I could be really good at this. Looking forward to expressing myself in a different way 🙂

    62. Dana

I’m excited that there is finally a giveaway for international friends. The drafting set is Devine. I used to have one just like it that was my dad’s, but it got accidentally thrown out in a clean up by my son. It made me think of my dad, how many times he held those tools everyday. I miss him so much.
Everyday items remind us of times past and memories of special people.

    63. Laurie Eccleston

I have an artist friend I would love to share it with!

    64. Leone

It is so generous of Julia at Ponder and Purchase to contribute to this. I can hardly wait for my book also and have already done one project from the Renters chapter we got earlier. The tools would be given to my granddaughter, an artist and illustrator. She appreciates older things and could use them her whole lifetime.

    65. Asha

Love all the brass goodies and the nibs ?

    66. Leslie

Antique draughtsman’s box?!? SWOON … Another generous giveaway ?

    69. Melanie

    70. Brynna

      The box for sure!

    71. casey crane

I bought watercolor squares and now I need that most beautiful watercolor case. 100 % swoon over that blue! Thank you

    72. Ivana

Thank you for this gorgeous giveaway! I like brass tools and nibs for a dip pen for my father.

      Kind regards,
      Ivana

    73. Jennifer

I am so excited about everything in this drawing, but most of all the antique drafting box!

    74. Karina Marrero

Wow what an amazing set and generous gift! As a multimedia artist, everything in this collection of giveaway items is standing out. It’s so difficult to pick one. However, as a collector of antiques, I am beyond intrigued by that exquisite watercolor pallet. The patina is stunning. I would treasure it most dearly. I believe that things of the past have a way of drawing us, that same way we become consumed by a novel. The watercolor pallet is visually appealing considering it’s obvious use and age. Much like a novel it’s telling me a story. Time will only add to its charm and character. Antique art supplies are an interesting topic of conversation because they may be physically from the past, but art itself will never be a thing of the past. Art is ever evolving.

    75. Tiffany Grace Walls

This is a wonderful giveaway. My favorite is definitely the draftsman set. My dad was a draftsman when I was just little. He helped work on the Apollo space project. I am so very proud of him so this would be wonderful to display and use as well

    76. Laurie

Your give-aways are the BOMB!!! The vintage watercolor set is lovely but I think I’m most excited about the draft man’s box!! Beautiful tools ❤️

    77. Susie Hamilton

Wow! What a great giveaway. But must I choose a favorite? Ok, how about the nibs. Just lovely!

    78. Liliana

I cannot decide. Each piece nurtures secret dreams. From pastels to nibs they all open doors to secret yearnings. Am crossing fingers for an unlikely win!

    79. Tracy

At first I was most excited about the Reeves pastels. But then… I saw the draughtsmans box, I think that’s what I’m most excited about. You lead me to Julia and I find her to be so delightful.

    80. Ann

What a wonderful giveaway. You are so generous in every way.

    81. Carla

What a wonderful giveaway! I might be inspired to create with these artists materials and $100! You make me believe that I can create art!

    82. DeniseW

    86. Tina Decket

What an exciting giveaway!!! I love, love, love the vintage drafting box? I studied architecture in college back before there was CAD. I loved hand drafting.
I can’t wait to get my hands on your gorgeous book! I preordered a while back and I’ve been anxiously awaiting its arrival!

    87. Diane Maw

What a wonderful variety of items in this give away! I would love to win such lovely items that are meant to be used and treasured. Here’s hoping! Can’t wait to get my copy of Feels Like Home.

    88. Kelly Bhatt

What a wonderful giveaway. I especially love the vintage wood pallet as piece of art itself. The rest I believe I would mostly gift to my adult daughter to encourage her artistic ability.

    89. Debra Lorah

I would love to win the antique drafting box with nibs. It’s just beautiful and I would use it frequently as I practice lettering, calligraphy and pen and ink drawings.

    90. Lisa Yablonski

The drafting set is awesome and my favorite. My son is doing this and I can see him so inspired. A lovely variety of all items in this giveaway!

    96. Sarah bice

Hello beautiful lady! You are so inspiring! You make us all realize if we work really hard we can do anything we put our minds to!! And for that ‘thank you!’ Im trying to teach my children the same thing! The wood pallet is lovely as is the watercolor! Thank you for being a role model for so many!! God bless.

    97. Jeanette

Since the beginning of the pandemic last year, I discovered a wealth of tutorials for all types of art; mixed media, collage, watercolor and oil painting. In fact, my fist attempt was with you, Marian, when you so generously shared oil painting sessions online! Your giveaway items would be welcomed in my newly formed art room. Too hard to choose a favorite – the vintage Reeves water color tin, or the pastels, or….?

    98. Alyson

Gosh, they’re each so lovely and tell a story in themselves. I keep going back to look at the vintage wooden palette – it holds my favourite colours, and I wonder what the painting was. It’s like an abstract painting in itself and I kind of get lost in it.

    99. Emily

The blue of the Reeves watercolor tin makes me so happy! It’s a lovely collection of items.

    100. Pam

Love it all! My first granddaughter is an artist and I would absolutely love to gift her all of the items (although I am really drawn to the drafting set!) thank you so much for the giveaway. Congratulations on your book!

    101. MaryLisa

I love the watercolor tin for my daughter. I always thought she would major in art but she decided on being a Veterinarian. Art is what she does for herself…..
      I’m very proud of her…

I think the wood palette is my favorite, I like to imagine the life of the artist that used it. I am sure his/her story would be interesting. All the items are charming, and make me eager to accumulate some art related antiques.

        • Catherine Withrow

Such a lovely assortment of art tools.
I’m looking forward to your book as I have moved from my beloved home (and studio) of 25 years to a smaller place in a much warmer climate. Deep homesickness has prevented me from making this place a home. Am hoping your new book will motivate me to move forward.

    138. Patsy

That draftsman box! I have adored the things ponder and purchase had found for you. I dream I could be an architect. A dear friend has been teaching me to paint and sew. The slipcovers are the intended goal. But I do love architecture and design. It would be so fun to have. Thank you both for a wonderful giveaway and endless inspiration

    139. Ann

    140. Gayle Stewart

What a lovely gift! I would be thrilled with any part of this gift, but particularly the mixed media ephemera and the watercolor tin (sorry, I couldn’t choose between them!). I dabble in mixed media. I’m certainly far from being an artist, but I sure enjoy “playing”. I suspect it is more a justification for all of my collections. Lol! I have always wanted to try my hand at watercolors and have set this coming winter as my opportunity to give it a try.

Thank you, again, for your continued generosity and for always sharing your creativity.

    141. Barbara Yoder

I would be most excited for any that have to do with watercolor for my daughter. She received her degree in art education and taught high school art for several years before she had her two sons. She says she is eclectic in her tastes and really likes all art but really likes to do watercolor. Now at home with her boys she does longarm quilting and paints when she has time.

    142. Maggie

What’s not to love about each of them. I like the paint tin and the draftsman’s box–and all those little do dads.

    151. Katie

Everything is fun, but drafting set reminds me of my grandpa, who had a similar one and knew how to use it, so that would be special. Congrats on the book! I can’t wait to get my copy!

It’s all inspiring. However I really like the drafting box. My 14 yr old son is a very good drawer. The set may just give him The push he needs to explore his talent further. I’m wondering whether he may study architecture later on???

    156. Bonnie C.

    165. PJ

That drafting box is lovely. I collect wooden boxes of all kinds, but the contents of that box make it extra special. Those tools are much more elegant than the tools I used when I took a drafting class 20 plus years ago. Congratulations on your book!

One artist sharing with another:0) I’ve been trying my hand at pastels watching some online videos so that’d be my wish, plus the book for visual help in guiding me in our home design. Sometimes you get stuck trying to decide on what to do or how to do it. Visuals really give you that help to focus in on what you truly want the space to look like.

      • Christopher

What a beautiful assortment of vintage art supplies. I think my favorite would be the pastels. Although it is difficult to decide.

    218. Michelle Thompson

Firstly. Finding your IG page was the best through your inspiration I have rediscovered my creativity and also followed some amazing people who also inspire me to delve deeper and try creating in ways I had not thought I could. Your giveaways are always so generous and fun. Its so hard to choose one thing but I am most drawn to the draughtman’s set. Because it is beautiful to behold and each item is fascinating but also because its such a delight to use older finely crafted items. And the gift voucher would be a second option because I am often left trying to make things work when I actually need to get the correct supplies.

    219. Jim

My high school drafting teacher, Mr. Marcantonio, would love for me to win the draughtsman’s box. He had his students make drawings completely from scratch: tape a “D” size piece of paper to our drafting tables; line out the title block and borders; sketch in our construction lines; make final heavy lines (mostly pencil, sometimes ink); and most importantly, make perfect block letters. He was very particular about lettering.

I have wanted to purchase a high-quality drafting table for my home, and the draughtsman’s box would really complete the package. I am a mechanical engineer, and while AutoCAD and SolidWorks are really, really good software tools for making drawings, nothing beats the old-school methods. If/when I receive this excellent prize, I will use the kit and not let it collect dust. Those tools were made to be used.

I will use them, and if I can find Mr. Marcantonio after all of these years, I would like to send him a drawing made with these beautiful tools.

    220. Sue

Just stumbled on your blog and I’m a watercolorist. I’m currently painting fall finds from my daily walks, and am cherishing these crisp, beautiful days.
