a place for everything

A couple of weeks ago, we started organizing the studio.  As I said before, it was overdue.  I am generally a neat and tidy person, but when I am in the middle of creating, I don't like to take the time to pick up after myself or put things away properly.  I'll just shove a piece of fabric on the fabric shelf or barely open a bin in order to drop something haphazardly in.  Over time, this behavior  (read more …)

my new creative workspace

Yesterday, I was a determined woman.  Despite the gloomy weather, I was in the mood to organize, purge, and get my creative space put together. We have organized and cleaned out the studio here and there, but we haven't picked through each bin and each drawer, keeping only the things that are really used.  It was time.  It was long past time. I went with a pretty sizable  (read more …)

organizing | one room down

I have been very lazy since Christmas.  You know me...I'm usually ultra productive, but every signal my body was sending me said to just rest and relax, so I did.  I did totally unproductive things like playing games on my iPad (I've been enjoying 1010! and The Room Three), watching Netflix, combing through the 25% off clearance sale at Anthropologie to make sure I didn't miss anything, and  (read more …)

steal-worthy office organization

If you missed it earlier this week, I finally finished Megan's office and revealed all of the details.  You can see the full post and series HERE. As I shared in the post, Kriste and I worked together to develop an overall floor plan and feel for the space.  We worked on the specific pieces of furniture, the Craig's List wardrobe, the revamped desk chair, slipcovered arm chair, etc.  I shopped  (read more …)
