I know some of you have been waiting to hear about my whole30 results and I can't believe I haven't shared them before now!  I wanted to share, but I've been debating with myself about how much to share and I always need a little extra time to work up the courage before I get really personal. So, here is my whole30 review and the results... Deep breath, muster that courage and here we go. In  (read more …)

whole30 | day eleven

I told you I would write some updates here and there on whole30, so I thought I would check in now that I'm over 1/3 of the way through.  (In case you missed it, I shared my struggles with food and yo-yo dieting in THIS POST.)  If you're not familiar with whole30, it's an elimination diet that you commit to for 30 days.  No dairy.  No sugar.  No grains.  No alcohol.  No legumes.  No cheating.  No  (read more …)

made to crave & whole 30

This is the raw post I was talking about writing.  This doesn't have anything to do with home decor or painted furniture.  It has to do with me and a constant struggle I've had since middle school.  This post is about food, body image, addiction and cravings.  It's going to be real and honest.  I'm going to lay it all out there, knowing that a lot of you can relate. Soooo...this would be a long  (read more …)

updates on everything

I suppose I'm not providing an update on everything, but just a lot of things that have been going on over the past year that I'm often asked about.  I don't want to throw something out there in a blog post and then never let you know how it's going, so here you go... P90X Results

I did it!  90 days of P90x.  Whew!  It was tough, but I really enjoyed it and I am very happy with the results.  I'm going to say upfront that I am not affiliated with P90x or Beachbody (the company that makes these workout videos) and I bought this program on my own, because I wanted to get in the best shape of my life and lose weight.  This is just something I'm doing and I wanted to share an  (read more …)

Victories, Defeats & Christmas in April

I'll start off with the victories.  I made it through the first block (4 weeks) of P90x.  I can already see and feel improvements in my fitness and have lost some pounds and inches.  I'm going for walks with my family and teaching my six year old how to play tennis. I'm finding some balance, so everything isn't about blogging, antiques, home projects, writing and photography.  It's been great and  (read more …)

Minimizing Miss Mustard Seed

As I mentioned in THIS POST, I'm making some changes in my life to be healthier and lose some weight.  I owned up to gaining 30 lbs since I started blogging.  I didn't gain weight because of the blog.  I gained weight because I didn't make my health a high priority. That changed last August when I kicked processed foods to the curb and became a vegetarian.  Some of you have asked for more details  (read more …)
