FURNITURE FEATURE FRIDAY – Breida’s Favorites & Link Party

FFF

Good evening, all!  I spent the day traveling from Pennsylvania all the way to Alabama with my husband, towing a trailer behind.  Since we left at 4:00 in the morning, we’re taking tonight to catch up on some sleep, so we’re ready to set up my space at The Chapel Market tomorrow.  I did do some hard napping in the car and drool may have been involved, but a good night sleep is still in order!  So, tonight I have a guest picker – Breida with a B (or as I call her “I before E except in Breida.”)  She’s a wonderful writer and has great taste, so I knew you would be in good hands with her.

I’m so excited to be back here at Miss Mustard Seed again! It seems natural to start off by saying that, and also to say that it was so hard to choose from among the many links!! Never have I seen so much talent in one place!!!

The exclamation points threaten to run right off the page, don’t they?

But, you know what? All kidding aside? It is hard. Not only is it hard to choose, but it is sometimes hard to communicate just how impressive the wealth of talent really is in the blog world. And sometimes? Italics and exclamation points just seem inadequate for the task. . .

If you’ve been following Miss Mustard Seed for even just a little while, you know that this link party is something special. We could be drowning in exclamation points before we could tell Marian how much we appreciate what she does and how much she inspires all of us. So what sets this link party apart from so many others? Well, that’s obvious, right?

It’s all of you.

So, thanks! And, here we go!

So my first choice is this dresser-turned-linen-chest from Kathleen, at Between Blue and Yellow. I like it for a couple of different reasons. First, I think the removal of the doors really works here. Looking at the inside of a piece isn’t always that attractive but the detail of the roll out drawer (pull out tray?) keeps this looking “finished” on the interior. The second reason is that I have a dresser sitting in my barn right now and all of the drawers fell apart. I was thinking of trying to turn it into something like this. . .

Next up! Can we discuss the color yellow for a minute? It’s not my thing. I’ve always said that. And yet – I seem to be getting drawn to it these days. Repeatedly! I had that experience when I went to Lucketts this past May and ended up taking a thousand pictures of yellow things. And now here is this dresser – and it seems to be calling my name! Karyn, from Kayboo Creations made a great choice for this dresser. I’ve never used spray paint on a piece of furniture but the finish looks fantastic. Karyn was partial to this dresser because of the original wooden caster wheels – it’s worth a trip over to her blog to check them out.

Fianlly, it’s gotten to be the time of year when it’s cold in my house. Even when it warms up on these sunny Fall days, it’s still chilly inside my house. . . maybe that’s what drew me to the hot colors on this dresser from Rachel, at Shades of Blue Interiors. I just LOVE these coral pulls along side the scrap book paper treatment on the fronts of the drawers. Perfect match – and an excellent contrast with the ASCP Provence that the dresser is painted with. Just beautiful! Make sure you go and check out the rest of her pictures!

I know you join me in wishing Marian Good Luck! at the Chapel Market this weekend. I’m really in the mood for a road trip but I just don’t think I can squeeze in an eighteen hour (ONE WAY!!) drive between soccer games and karate lessons this week. Sigh…

Once again, I’ll be featuring some more of my favorites from Furniture Feature Friday on my Facebook Page over the next couple of days. Please, stop by and join me there! Have a great trip, Marian!! And thank you so much for having me!

Thanks, Breida!  I love those picks and it is so hard to pick favorites every week.  Glad I could hand the job to you this week!
If you want to learn more about Breida and her 100+ year old New York farm house, you can follow her blog HERE.
I’m going to share a guide to shopping my space at the Chapel Market on the blog tomorrow and will, hopefully, have pictures to share of the space all set up.  I’m so thankful it’s inside and I don’t have to worry about the weather!  It’s such a luxury for an antique fair.  Anyway, I’ll check in with you then!

Here are the rules for our furniture get-together…
1.) Your post has to be about furniture. Please, please, please…just furniture. If you find your link has been deleted, it’s not because I’m mean, it’s because your post was not about furniture. You can share makeovers, awesome finds, favorite pieces, furniture arrangements, or even pieces on your wish list! Built-in furniture like kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities qualify as furniture.
2.) Post a permalink (the link to the post), not the link to your blog.
3.) This party will close Friday at midnight PST and I will choose my favorite(s) and feature their piece(s) on next week’s FFF. Enjoy the party!
