my first book signing…

It was wonderful.

It was a little chilly, but I brought an antique wool “car robe” I bought at a yard sale for $8.00 years ago.  It’s pretty toasty.

So many wonderful ladies came to visit and buy the book or bring a book for me to sign.

Thanks to all who came to hang out today and for all who left sweet comments on my post yesterday.  Made me feel like a million bucks.

My husband came around lunch time to bring me some food and help out.  He was so sweet.  I was a little awkward with the self-promoting thing and just sat behind the table and smiled at people who were shopping in the tent.  When he came in, he started propping my book up around the tent.

“People need to see them.  We should put up a banner or something.”

That made me feel priceless.  :)

For your viewing enjoyment, here are some more pictures of the Design House…

I’ll be at Lucketts again tomorrow if you can make it…

i LOVE LOVE LOVE your website which I came across from an add in Womans Day mag. I am much older than you,but find we like much the same things, so I feel a connection. My only regret is that I live in GA , and that is much to far to come see you place. The pics are so warm and inviting, but I am sure they are much more beautiful in person. Thanks for sharing all of it . I am planning to try the pinecone ornaments soon, atyually I can hardly wait. May you and your family have a great Holiday season.

    • all because i received a complementary copy of “todays christian woman” & saw your eye-catching ad…
i truly enjoyed reading through your blog & viewing the photos. but the real treat is your “voice.” your editor was correct in letting the fire come forward.

  6. Hi Marian,
I missed you yesterday at Lucketts. I didn’t arrive till 4:00. However, I did order a copy of your book! :) I don’t live too far from Lucketts, so I can come back another time. I understand from the gals in the shop you are there often. I write a blog serving single women who purchase a home solo. I’d love to interview you for my blog and book. Can we chat?
    EnJOY and blessings,

Please, I beg of you, get rid of the audio advertising. It detracts from your blog. We can ignore the ads in the margins, but the talking is simply too much to bear.

    • I totally agree! I’m not supposed to have any audio ads, so thanks for letting me know. I’ll try to figure out the culprit. Do you recall which ad it was? Was it towards the bottom or top?

  14. :) Yes, your book needed to be shown off! A banner is a must too :) I thought about you while I was out shopping in Columbus Ohio!

  15. So very happy for you! Congratulations, Marian. x
