MMS tee & a French chair makeover

I picked up my t-shirts yesterday!

I absolutely love them.  Reni did an amazing job with the design and I’m so happy with the printing and the quality of the t-shirts.  They are Champion brand and are 60% cotton and 40% polyester, which makes them a little stretchy and will prevent shrinking.

I’ll be setting up an online shop soon and the t-shirts will be available for sale there, in addition to my milk paint and some of the random cool things I find and make.  The shirts will be $15/each.  I’ll do a giveaway for one next week (in addition to a few other goodies.)  The batch I just picked up will be coming with me to sell at Lucketts.

Well, I’m still paint splattered and dirty and sore and cranking out pieces for Lucketts.  If you’re curious what I’m working on, you can check out my Facebook page for the latest.  Here’s a piece I just finished today…

I don’t have a before picture of it, but this is what it looked like with the frame painted and the upholstery stripped off.

I found this awesome hemp fabric online that looks and feels a lot like European grain sack fabric and it’s my new favorite fabric for upholstery.

I have been hiring out my upholstery projects lately, but I decided to tackle this piece myself and I think it’s the best I’ve ever done on a chair.  (If I don’t say so myself!)

I won’t be heartbroken if it doesn’t sell at the fair, but I have a feeling it will.

In the past, I’ve had a link party for people attending the fair (shoppers & vendors) and some special giveaways.  I’m going to do that again this year, so look for that next week!

I love the Tshirt I will certainly buy one when they are available, I will cause quite a stir down here in Aussie I would imagine. I also love the fabric on the chair, and maybe you should think about selling to your readers, it certainly seems a goer!!!!! Also I have watched your video on how to cover a wing chair, I can only say thanks big time. One question as we do not have drop sheets here, what amount of fabric should I buy???? Once again thank you so much for sharing.

Great looking T-shirts! I am really looking forward to seeing your milk paint colors too! Also, am in LOVE with the fabric you put on this chair! Would you be able to pass along the link to where you purchased it? This would be the perfect fabric on a chair I want to re-purpose.
    Thanks! Have a beautiful day!

I’m thinking that you have shared the website info before for this wonderful “grain sack” look fabric, but for the life of me I cannot find it! Please be so kind as to point me in the right direction. I’m in the process of doing some much needed updates and you have inspired me greatly. Thanks!

  10. Hi Marion! I would love to own a t-shirt. How do I purchase one? I would love to spread the MMS word over here in Michigan.

  11. I have just acquired a chair similar to this. Could you give some instruction. What colour did you paint the wood on the chair??? Is that a extra cushion on the top? What kind of batting did you use on the back and the seat? Thanks for any info you can give me. I’m going to use drop cloth.

  12. Hi,
My husband and I are wanting to re-cover an antique sofa his mom handed down to us, so I was wondering if you would mind sharing the source for this pretty hemp material you used.
    Thank you & Happy Week!
