Here are some of the recent finds that are coming with me to the Lucketts Antique Market…

…horse show ribbons from 1957 & 1960…

…this petite paper cutter (it’s about 6″ square)…

..this apparently came out of an old church…

…a hanging scale…

…and a bunch of film holders.  I’m excited about the idea I have for these.  (I hope it works!)

In addition to pricing things for the antique market, I did some major cleaning in my house, bought a couple of dressers, and cleaned out some of the basement.  I’ve been wanting to tackle that basement for a while and I’m finally almost back to my full energy, so I got a good start on it.  There were piles of boxes and spilled Styrofoam peanuts everywhere, furniture that needed to go to the thrift store, photo props and samples that have been hanging around too long…you get the idea.  It’s looking much better down there and I made room to start a good pile for Lucketts.

Speaking of Lucketts, I’m heading there tomorrow to drop off my latest milk paint dresser.  I’m also going to do some more shopping on the way down and perhaps the way back as well…

Oh, I can’t wait to see you! :) I am pretty sure I’m where I was yesterday, which was just to the left of the gate from the Lucketts store parking lot and straight across the gravel lot from the field entrance. I was one of the only vendors in the gravel next to the food vendors, but I think they are putting more vendors around me this year. I’ll write a post a couple of days before to let everyone know where to find me.

I remember a lot of those things from my youth. Especially that metal fan. Ours put a hurting on my finger. It’s funny how that stuff is now what I’d rather have than the stuff made today that doesn’t last as well. Awesome finds.

  31. Denise says:

Oh my goodness! I would love to purchase the stamp stand from you…in my other life(lol) I worked int he court system and I had one of those on my desk. 33. You have ana amzing eye for finding just the right items. I just found an amazing green little fan sinilar to yours…wish could make a road trip to Lucketts:)

  34. love to see your energy and inspiration is on the road again. The sacred heart is simply stunning and thier is so many ideas with that piece. I am on the bandwagon, you find the best. Need to teach a class on how how to find such great treasures. PS love the clocks, someone should buy them as a collection.

  35. I love that little paper cutter! I wonder if it belonged to a photographer to perhaps cut 4″x6″ photographs back in its day. Some beautiful treasures you have there.

  36. Denise says:

The sacred heart is so inspiringl. I would like to buy this particular one for sure! Anything with a heart means a lot to me. There is a reason for it , I have been seeing hearts everywhere for past three years. There is a particular heart rock I cherish but it may mean nothing to anyone else. It is heart shaped rock with arm holding a tiny heart I have taken so many pictures of heart on rocks, waterfall, so forth. The brass lamp is cool! You have found many amazing treasures.

  37. Looks like some really great items for your sale…I love the vintage clocks…my sister started collecting those years ago and I so love them…I just came from one of my favorite antique shops that is a stockiest for Annie Sloan..she showed me a photo taken of her and you together and then of course a photo with the famous Annie…..She had a wonderful time at the seminar in Virginia…

  38. Janet Lawson says:

  39. We obviously didn’t raise a Catholic.

  40. Wow I wish I lived near you! I’d buy that church box and the stamp holder, that camera, some of those clocks, and oh yeah, that great paper cutter! Did I forget anything? My husband thanks you for living far, and not contributing to my addictions!

  41. Melinda says:

The wooden box find is most likely a tabernacle from a Catholic Church with the Sacred Heart of Jesus on the front. Great find! What are you selling it for?

  42. Why-oh-why-oh-why must we live half a continent away from one another?!? The clocks, the fan, the wooden frame with cross and heart….be still MY heart! I just want to come peruse the merchandise and sip a cup of hot tea as I dream of just where I would put it all!

  43. diedre says:

    hi marian-

i called lucketts to buy the paper cutter . i never got to the “will you ship it”….they were very busy.
did you take it into lucketts?

  44. Janice Knudson says:

Can we buy stuff from you before Lucketts or can we buy it from Luckett’s after they are in your shop? I would love all the things you have, and have had and sold some of – them from my own house ri – can’t believe I did, what a mistake. I love the horse ribbons for my friend for Christmas. Janice

  45. Melissa says:

You’ve had the beautiful antique fan on here for awhile and found while thrifting. I live in Pickerington, Ohio(where I buy your wax and paints) and thrift but never find many antiques for the home. Do you have any suggestions or do you or your friends and family know of any I definitely need to be frequenting? I love thrifting and garage sales. Have a blessed day!
