Furniture Feature Friday – Link Party & Favorites

I had a wonderful day today.  I was finally able to move back into my little space on the first floor of The Old Lucketts Store.  I let other people do the heavy lifting, but I got to do all of the fluffing and arranging and playing that I’ve missed so much over the last few months.  I also got to meet a couple of readers who were there shopping as well.  It’s always nice to put a face with some of the people who read my blog.  They’re all lovely, of course (…but I’m partial.)

I shared some pictures of my space on my FaceBook Page today, if you want to check it out.  I’ll share some more pictures here tomorrow.  Speaking of my FaceBook Page, I am starting to use it a lot more, so if you’re interested in hearing about funny things my kids say, what I’m up to during the day or just want to connect in another social media outlet, make sure you “like” my page.  I’m having a lot of fun with it!

My favorites for FFF last week were all white, so I decided to go with colors this week.  Here are some of my favorites (and I posted a few more on Pinterest)…

Amanda from Studio 1404 painted this beautiful buffet in the most gorgeous aqua color.  It really is perfect for the piece and the distressing brings out those amazing lines.  I love this piece, Amanda!

Jared & Rebecca of The Shaver Shack shared this very cool waterfall hope chest makeover.  They used one of my favorite dressers for inspiration, but made this piece entirely their own.  Rebecca was uncertain about the distressing, but I think that’s what makes this piece special.  It brings great texture and color to the room.

Kennesha from Restoration House Interiors went with a classic look for this highboy dresser. She used ASCP Graphite with a natural wood top and the original brass hardware. It’s so simple, but I love the understated beauty of this piece. (She has super cute tags, too. This girl has good taste!)

Here are the rules for our furniture get-together…

1.) Your post has to be about furniture. Please, please, please…just furniture. If you find your link has been deleted, it’s not because I’m mean, it’s because your post was not about furniture. You can share makeovers, awesome finds, favorite pieces, furniture arrangements, or even pieces on your wish list! Built-in furniture like kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities qualify as furniture.

2.) Post a permalink (the link to the post), not the link to your blog.

3.) This party will close Friday at midnight PST and I will choose my favorite(s) and feature their piece(s) on next week’s FFF.

Enjoy the party!

  3. I so look forward to friday mornings! Kids off to school, green tea latte and all the fabulous projects to peruse! This weekend is even more amazing..we have a local Junk Market, A local 3rd Monday Flea Market and AH-mazing garage sales in the historic district. Can it get any better for a ‘junker’. Thanks again for ALL you do to inspire. I would have never heard of ASCP if it wasn’t for you. Never thought I could stain a table top by myself or heard of the beauty that is German Glitter Gold (I am about to sell in my booth b/c NOBODY sells it around here). Have a perfect weekend!!!

  14. Checked out your Facebook page this morning and saw the pictures you posted with your additions to your space at Lucketts. Oh so lovely. I am guessing you got a big energy boost from making your area look great. Thanks for hosting this week and I am very glad you are being careful especially about lifting as you recover. I posted (no. 80) a vintage 1950’s drop leaf table this week. I didn’t paint but I certainly cleaned and repaired. Whew. Worked up a good ‘glow’. I’ve been lucky this past week with finding and painting and making pretty vignettes with things I found so, good week all round. Glad your energy is returning.

  15. Great party as always!

  18. Happy Party Friday! This week I made a storage crate out of a pallet and couldn’t resist linking it up. I think it fits under a loose definition of furniture…but if you disagree, I understand. Thank you for hosting and enjoy the weekend.

  28. Hi Miss Mustard Seed,
We were super thrilled to be featured. Last week when I was linking this up, I was “pie in the sky” dreaming about you picking us! I just feel like our blog and photography are so not up to snuff. Thanks for the encouragement and really for the awesome inspiration, with more than just your dresser. I didn’t get up the courage to order some chalk paint and wax until I watched your video tutorials. You are amazing!
    Thanks again,
Jared (and Rebecca) of The Shaver Shack
