Furniture Feature Friday – Favorites & a Link Party

I went on my weekly trek to Lucketts today and did some shopping on the way down and back.  I found a lot of cool things, mostly furniture.  My head is spinning from all of the money I have spent this week, but I have to remember I’m going to get it all back, plus a profit, so I can settle down.  One thing I splurged on was an amazing antique hand carved wood rocking horse.  It’s about 4 feet long, so he’s a big boy and he’s gorgeous.  I gasped when I saw him in the window and I kept thinking about him and walking over to check him out one last time.  I finally buckled and bought him.  I took him straight to Lucketts, so I wouldn’t be tempted to keep him.  If he doesn’t sell after a while…he’s all mine.  (Insert evil laugh.)  This was the one week I didn’t bring my camera with me to Lucketts, so I’ll take a picture of him next week (if he’s still there.)

Now, onto FFF and my favorites from last week…

I basically love everything Kristine from The Painted Hive does and this “faux” card catalog is no exception.  She made this out of a light pine Ikea cubby-drawer-thing.  (That’s the technical term, in case you were wondering.)  It is so clever…I wish I had thought of it first!  Love this!

I love how Brittany from Brittany Makes used a Union Jack design on this mirror frame to make it unique and graphic.  It’s really a statement piece now, instead of a ho-hum mirror.  I love this, too.

I’m so excited to share this last piece with you.  It was transformed by Anna from Leone Design.  Here’s the thing about Anna…  SHE’S TEN!  That’s not her dress size or shoe size.  That’s her AGE.  I just love seeing a young girl learning the value of turning an ugly duck into a really cool piece.  I love her choice of color and the chunky knobs.  Keep it up, Anna!  (You’re a cool mom, Martha.)

Here are the rules for our furniture get-together…

1.) Your post has to be about furniture. Please, please, please…just furniture. If you find your link has been deleted, it’s not because I’m mean, it’s because your post was not about furniture. You can share makeovers, awesome finds, favorite pieces, furniture arrangements, or even pieces on your wish list! Built-in furniture like kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities qualify as furniture.

2.) Post a permalink (the link to the post), not the link to your blog.

3.) This party will close Friday at midnight PST and I will choose my favorite(s) and feature their piece(s) on next week’s FFF.

Enjoy the party!

  35. Greetings, I’m Rogelio and I’m really grateful that I came upon missmustardseed.
com. I have got a quick question that I’d like to ask if you do not mind.
What do you do to clear your head and find your center of focus before you
sit down to write? I have had challenges clearing my mind in order
to get my ideas out. I love writing once I get into the act, but most
of the time I feel as if I end up losing the first 10 to
15 minutes driving myself to concentrate. Any tips
    or suggestions?
