I’m so glad to report that I’m feeling much better. I still have staples that need to be removed early next week (ugh), but I’m able to do some cleaning and straightening up and I think I’ll be able to start painting, shopping, etc, next week. I definitely don’t have the endurance I’m used to and I have to take breaks, but I can tell that things are going to get back to normal soon.
Another piece of good news is that my parents closed on their home in Florida today and a new house is being built for them just 10 minutes away from my home. I am so excited about having them so close, so my boys can know their grandparents really well and my parents can help me with the business they encouraged me to start. My mom and I won’t have to stuff three weeks of work into one when she visits. Now we can pace ourselves. We probably won’t, but we can. I’m also looking forward to simple things like meeting my mom for a bowl of cream of crab soup at Herr’s Tavern and taking the boys to the battlefield with my dad, so they can hear all about Pickett’s charge. They’ll move here late this summer and I can’t wait!
I usually feature three different pieces of furniture, but I was so blown away by one room that I decided to do one big feature. I’ve linked up pieces by Maple & Magnolia before. I love her eye and her styling. This room is right on par with the rest of her amazing work.
Last week she linked up her sleeping porch makeover…
…she was primarily sharing the bed, which is gorgeous.
Can you believe she got this at Salvation Army? That bed at Salvation Army!! I just want to run out to all Salvation Army stores within 60 miles to see if I can have that kind of luck!
The desk is also lovely…
…and the mirrored cupboard.
I basically just want this entire room. And you know the best part? This entire room was purchased at thrift stores, yard sales, flea markets, consignment shops and antique stores. It’s just the latest awesome example that a beautiful space is found and created and doesn’t have to cost a fortune.
Here are the rules for our furniture get-together…
1.) Your post has to be about furniture. Please, please, please…just furniture. If you find your link has been deleted, it’s not because I’m mean, it’s because your post was not about furniture. You can share makeovers, awesome finds, favorite pieces, furniture arrangements, or even pieces on your wish list! Built-in furniture like kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities qualify as furniture.
2.) Post a permalink (the link to the post), not the link to your blog.
3.) This party will close Friday at midnight PST and I will choose my favorite(s) and feature their piece(s) on next week’s FFF.
Enjoy the party!
