It’s finally here!! At long last! I know I have been dragging my feet on this one and I finally took the time to make the first segment in my promised video slipcover series. (I told you I would get a lot done with my mom here!)
We’re going to start this journey where I always start when making a slipcover – sewing the custom piping.
Since writing the posts above, I have stopped bleaching the drop cloths I work with. I have found that I don’t mind the natural color and it saves a whole lot of bleach and wash cycles, but bleaching definitely does lighten them, if that’s the look you want.
Up next in the series…
I have two Parsons’ chairs and a wing chair I will be walking you through, so purchase your drop cloths and get ready!

Ack! I’ve watched these tutorials before but now I’m about to start slipcovering our chair and the videos are gone! Help!
First and formost…Thank You Bunches for these amazing vids!! But I do have a question…Should you cut off the piping that is already on the piece before putting another on? I know its a slipcover, but does it get too bulky there? I’ve started bleaching, I really like a lighter color, and will be working on my couch then love seat this week. Pray for me, lol!
)
You could, certainly. I generally just leave the old cover on and most of the time you don’t notice the old piping underneath, but I’m not very picky about that kind of thing!
Wow, super quick, Thank ya ma’am!
Hey! I spent the last 24 hrs watching your video and taking notes.-which was a mazing. However went online for the Finish drop cloths, then to Lowes, home Depot and big lots- not to mention alot of google”ling. Yes Lowes pops up the ads for selling them-no avail online, not in store. Your thoughts?
I did see Lowes carries another brand-again as prior post state-oatmeal color. Your tried and true method is what I want. If I had new reciepe-I follow it to the “T” the tweak it, Just don’t know know where to get your recommended drop cloths. Maybe a link here on your site? Help! Been to Lowes, home depot and big lots today to no avail. thank you!
Respectfully,
Karen M.
Marion, I’m so happy that I came across your videos. I bought the drop cloths before I even knew that you used them. I’m planning on covering my two Parson’s chairs Wish me luck!
Generally I don’t read post on blogs, however I wish to say that this write-up very compelled me to try and do it! Your writing style has been surprised me. Thanks, very great article.
Hi Miss Mustard Seed:
