Today my finds were about quality, not quantity. I ran over to the church yard sale across the street from our house (we live in a little downtown area) while my husband was home for lunch. There wasn’t a lot there, but I found a couple of great things!
This vintage Pyrex refrigerator box set was in fantastic condition and was only $3.50! I scooped them up so fast I thought for sure I would drop one.
…the sticker to prove the wonderful price.
I then saw this stack of white bowls. I got a feeling in my gut that I need to turn them over…and bingo! Ironstone. One of my very favorite things.
…and the price? Fifty cents. FOR ALL OF THEM! The sticker might as well have said “just steal me.”
I felt so bad about those prices that I bought some $2.50 cookies from the bake sale. They were yummy and worth it.
And here is the thing I would throw myself into traffic for (not really, but I love it.) This is my $30 Craig’s List French Provincial dresser. It is in wonderful condition and just needs some new hardware and a paint job. It actually doesn’t NEED a paint job, but I think it would improve and update it. I’m bidding on some handles on E-bay that are an exact match. Hope I win.
I commented on how much I loved this dresser to the sellers and I heard the sweetest words I could have imagined. “Do you want another one?” “YES!” They have an entire bedroom set that they are getting rid of. The wife wasn’t ready to give them up today, but I must have asked her 15 times to call me first and I will take them. I’m even going to send an e-mail to reminder her…can’t help myself!
I saw lots of yard sale signs out there, so I’m heading out in the morning. I hope I’ll have more to share with all of you. I’ve also been working my hindquarters off in my workshop, so I’ll have lots of before and afters to share over the next couple of weeks!
Make sure you check out The 100 Follower Giveaway at Common Ground. I tell you to go there with some hesitancy, because I want to win and if you leave a comment you might win instead of me! But, my blog friend, Debra, has a great blog, so check it out!
