“This Table Deserves Better” Reveal!

Remember this table from last week? You can read about the transformation process here: http://missmustardseed.com/2009/09/this-table-deserves-better/ I finally finished it yesterday! This poor little table had a horrible paint job that did not do it justice and this is what it looks like now. (And in case you’re wondering…no, I do not paint everything in blues & aquas! I’ll post some other colors soon.)

I painted it in ProClassic Semigloss paint in Frost from Sherwin Williams and then added some decorative painting to highlight the details of the table. This is a great example of how decorative painting does not have to be complicated. Even if you’re not an “artist” you can do this! I used one color (Victorian Teal by Delta) and kept it simple. After the decorative painting, I mixed a small amount of paint with some MinWax water based Polycrylic to make a glaze. I then rubbed the glaze on all of the table except the top. This gave the table a slight bluish cast, almost like faded paint.

Please contact me if you have any questions about the process or anything else! I love comments, so please let me know your thoughts!

GOOOORGEOUS!!! Awesome job! That little table`s got a new lease on life, LOL!!

(PS- side note… it would be easier to leave you comments if you had a pop-up instead! I have to do 3 steps (4 if I'm not logged in) to leave you a comment! :) I changed mine to that recently after realizing how long it could take! ;) )

  2. I figured it out and changed it to a pop-up window. I agree that it is much easier, so thanks for the tip!

  6. This came out beautiful///now it looks glamorous. However, I hate to admit it….I liked the before too. However the before would be a hard piece to place along with anything in most rooms!
